Jürgen Grabowski
Jürgen Grabowski (7 July 1944 – 10 March 2022) was a German footballer. He played for Eintracht Frankfurt. He became European champion in 1972 and world champion in 1974. Grabowski is considered the greatest Eintracht Frankfurt player ever. Biography Grabowski was born in Wiesbaden. Grabowski, originally a forward, then later an attacking midfielder or a winger, started his career with SV Biebrich 1919 and FV Biebrich 1902 of Wiesbaden. In 1965 he joined Eintracht Frankfurt. With this team he won the German Cup in 1974 and 1975 and the UEFA Europa League in 1980. Injury prevented him from participating in the 1980 UEFA Cup finals. In European Cup competitions he made 40 appearances and scored nine goals. He played 44 caps for the West Germany national team and scored five goals. Taunusstein () is the biggest town in the Rheingau-Taunus-Kreis in the ''Regierungsbezirk'' of Darmstadt in Hessen, Germany. It has 30,068 inhabitants (2020). Olympiastadion () is a stadium located in Munich, Germany. Situated at the heart of the '' Olympiapark München'' in northern Munich, the stadium was the main venue for the 1972 Summer Olympics. Bernd Hölzenbein
Bernd Hölzenbein (born 9 March 1946) is a German former professional footballer who played as a striker or winger. At international level, he was a member of the West German team that won the World Cup in 1974. Hölzenbein is best known for being fouled in the final against the Netherlands, which led to the Germans' equalizing penalty. Playing career A qualified merchant, Hölzenbein debuted for Eintracht Frankfurt in the Bundesliga in 1967 to serve for this club until his departure in 1981. A three times German Cup winner with them in 1974, 1975 and 1981, Hölzenbein also won the UEFA Cup with Frankfurt in 1980. Karl-Heinz Schnellinger (born 31 March 1939) is a German former footballer who played as a defender. An athletic and hard-tackling player, with a strong physique, he was nicknamed the "Volkswagen" for his continuity of performance, both in quantity and in quality, and for his versatility; indeed, although he was usually deployed as a full-back, he was capable of playing anywhere along the back, and could also play as a centre-back, as a sweeper, or even as a defensive midfielder. The semi-final of the 1970 FIFA World Cup between Italy and West Germany has been called the "Game of the Century" ( es, Partido del Siglo; it, Partita del secolo; german: Jahrhundertspiel). It was played on 17 June 1970 at the ''Estadio Azteca'' in Mexico City. Italy won 4–3 after five of the seven goals were scored in extra time, the record for most goals scored during extra time in a FIFA World Cup game. In sport, a cap is a player's appearance in a game at international level. The term dates from the practice in the United Kingdom of awarding a cap to every player in an international match of rugby football and association football. In the early days of football, the concept of each team wearing a set of matching shirts had not been universally adopted, so each side would distinguish itself from the other by wearing a specific sort of cap. An early illustration of the first international football match between Scotland and England in 1872 shows the Scottish players wearing cowls, and the English wearing a variety of school caps.
