Jørgen Juve
Jørgen Juve (22 November 1906 – 12 April 1983) was a Norwegian association football, football player, jurist, journalist and non-fiction writer. He played as a striker for F.C. Lyn Oslo, Lyn, and also for the Norway national football team, Norway national team. He is the highest-scoring player ever for Norway, with 33 goals in just 45 games. He was captain of the Norway team which won Olympic bronze medals in the 1936 Summer Olympics. He also had a career as a journalist for ''Dagbladet'' and ''Tidens Tegn'', and wrote several books. Personal life Juve was born in Porsgrunn; the son of Tanner (occupation), tanner Ole Martin Juve and Marie Pøhner. The family name originates from the farm Juve/Djuve in Lårdal, where his grandfather was born. He was the eldest of six children. Porsgrunn
is a city and municipality in Telemark in the county of Vestfold og Telemark in Norway. It is part of the traditional region of Grenland. The administrative centre of the municipality is the city of Porsgrunn. The municipality of Porsgrunn was established on 1 January 1838 (see formannskapsdistrikt). The town of Brevik and the rural district of Eidanger were merged into the municipality of Porsgrunn on 1 January 1964. The conurbation of Porsgrunn and Skien is considered by Statistics Norway to be the seventh-largest city in Norway. ''Tidens Tegn'' (Norwegian: ''Sign of the Times'') is a former Norwegian newspaper, issued in Oslo from 1910 to 1941. Editors The founder and first editor-in-chief of ''Tidens Tegn'' was Ola Thommessen, who edited the newspaper until 1917. Thommessen had recently left the editor chair of ''Verdens Gang'' in protest, bringing much of ''Verdens Gang''´s staff with him. From 1917 to 1938 the editor-in-chief was Rolf Thommessen, son of the founder. Another son Bjørn Thommessen was central as well. Jonas Schanche Jonasen edited the newspaper from 1938 to 1940, when he fled from the country to Great Britain. A hat-trick or hat trick is the achievement of a generally positive feat three times in a match, or another achievement based on the number three. Origin The term first appeared in 1858 in cricket, to describe H. H. Stephenson taking three wickets with three consecutive deliveries. Fans held a collection for Stephenson, and presented him with a hat bought with the proceeds. The term was used in print for the first time in 1865 in the ''Chelmsford Chronicle''. The 1928 Norwegian Football Cup was the 27th season of the Norwegian annual knockout football tournament. The tournament was open for all members of NFF, except those from Northern Norway. The final was played at Halden Stadion in Halden on 14 October 1928, and was contested by the defending champions Ørn and the four-time former winners Lyn. Norwegian Football Cup
The Norwegian Football Cup ( no, Norgesmesterskapet i fotball for herrer) is the main knockout cup competition in Norwegian football. It is run by the Football Association of Norway and has been contested since 1902, making it the oldest football tournament in the country. IF Urædd
IF Urædd is a Norwegian sports club from Porsgrunn, founded in 1880. Since 8 December 1993 it has been an alliance sports team, with independent sections for football, handball, sport wrestling, skiing, gymnastics, basketball, athletics and speed skating. Its football section Urædd FK, athletics section Urædd Friidrett and handball section Urædd Håndball are the best known nationwide. Urædd Friidrett Urædd Friidrett is the athletics department of the alliance club IF Urædd from Porsgrunn, which was founded in 1880. The athletics section within IF Urædd was established in 1917. Eva Røine
Eva Røine (born December 11, 1928) is a Norwegian psychologist and author. Røine was born in Mysen, the daughter of the dentist Thorbjørn Sverre Røine (1896–1962) and Sigrid Bergliot Lund (1894–1962). In her younger years she worked as an actress and journalist, and she was the first Miss Norway, participating in the Miss World competition in the United States in 1952. She studied theater for two years in London and was then employed at the People's Theater in Oslo, where she performed from its opening in 1952 to 1955. From 1955 to 1959 she worked as a journalist for the newspaper ''Dagbladet''. She was the press secretary at the National Theater in Oslo from 1963 to 1968. Klaus Egge
Klaus Egge (July 19, 1906 – March 7, 1979) was a Norwegian composer and music critic. Background Egge was born in Gransherad, Telemark, Norway. He was the son Rasmus Klausen Egge (1874-1962) and Rakel Abrahamsdatter Iversen (1877-1986). He graduated from the teacher school at Stord in 1927 and then started at the Norwegian Academy of Music in Oslo. He trained under with Arild Sandvold on the organ and with Gustav Lange (1861-1939) in harmony. In 1929 he graduated and in the following years he worked as a primary school teacher in Porsgrunn (1930–34). He continued his musical education with private lessons from Nils Larsen and composition lessons with Fartein Valen. On April 4, 1934, he debuted as a composer at the University of Oslo.
