Jølstravatn
Jølstravatnet or Jølstravatn is a lake in Sunnfjord Municipality in Vestland county, Norway. The lake empties its water into the long Jølstra river which then flows into the Førdefjorden. The impressive eastern arm of Jølstravatn is called ''Kjøsnesfjorden'', although it is not a true fjord that is part of the sea. The villages of Skei, Helgheim, Ålhus, and Vassenden are located on the shores of the lake. The lake is located at an elevation of above sea level, and the deepest point in the lake is below the water level. The lake is about long and about wide. Jølstravatn is a very good fishing lake. The European route E39 highway runs along the entire northern shore of the lake. The Norwegian National Road 5 runs along the eastern shore of the lake. Jølstra
The Jølstra is a river in Sunnfjord Municipality in Vestland county, Norway. The long river flows from the lake of Jølstravatnet (at an elevation of above sea level) down to the Førdefjorden (which is at sea level). The river begins at the village of Vassenden, on the shores of the lake, it then goes past the village of Langhaugane, then past the Moskog area of Førde, past the village of Bruland, and it finally flows to its mouth at the town of Førde, on the shores of the fjord. Ålhus is a small village in the municipality of Sunnfjord in Vestland county, Norway. Vestland is a county in Norway established on 1 January 2020. The county is located in Western Norway and it is centred around the city of Bergen, Norway's second largest city.
