Jörg Steinebrunner
Jörg Peter Steinebrunner (born 22 October 1971) is a German football coach. He is currently the head coach of Angthong. Playing career As a player he has played for FC Schönau, SC Freiburg Amateure, SG Lörrach-Stetten, Freiburger FC and Old Boys Basel. He also has played in Singapore, for Tanjong Pagar United FC where he won the Singapore FA Cup and the Singapore League Cup with them. Coaching career Woodlands Wellington and Sengkang Punggol After retiring from playing in 2003, Steinebrunner moves into coaching, and were appointed as Woodlands Wellington head coach in 2006. He stepped down at the end of the 2008 season, after management restructuring in the club. During his stay with the club, they won the 2007 Singapore League Cup and were the 2008 Singapore Cup runners-up. Sengkang Punggol was his next destination for the 2009 season, but his job were terminated in the middle of the season due to poor performance of his team. 2007 Singapore League Cup
The inaugural Singapore League Cup was held in 2007. The tournament was held before the start of the S.League season that year. Prior to this tournament, there is another tournament with the same name that was held until in 1997 where the Singapore Armed Forces had defeated Geylang United by 1-0 in the final. However that old Singapore League Cup was subsequently renamed into present Singapore Cup and evolved to be the major cup competition in Singapore football. In recent years, invitational foreign teams participated in the Singapore Cup along with the local clubs. The League Cup, however, is solely reserved for domestic clubs. The 2007 competition was sponsored by SingTel, and officially titled the SingTel League Cup. Woodlands Wellington Football Club is an inactive professional association football, football club which played in the S.League, the top division of football in Singapore. They are based in Woodlands, Singapore, Woodlands at the 4,300 seater Woodlands Stadium, where they have played since their establishment. Woodlands Wellington FC's honours include winning the inaugural Singapore League Cup in 2007, defeating Sengkang Punggol FC 4–0 in the final. Singapore League Cup
The Singapore League Cup was an annual soccer competition in Singapore. It was launched in 2007, and was open to teams who play in the S.League. The 2007 competition was sponsored by SingTel, and officially titled the SingTel League Cup. Eight of the twelve S.League teams took part in the 2007 tournament, which was held before the start of the S.League season proper. In 2008, the competition's official sponsored name was the Avaya-J&J League Cup (with sponsorship coming from Avaya and Jebsen & Jessen Communications). All twelve S.League teams took part in the 2008 tournament. Unlike the 2007 event, the 2008 competition was held during the S.League season. The Singapore FA Cup, (also known as the Singapore Pools FA Cup for sponsorship reasons), is an annual football competition in Singapore. Initially held for clubs from the S.League from 1996-1998, the Football Association of Singapore decided to change format of the cup to allow only teams from National Football League to take part in the knock out competition from 1999, so that the S.League clubs can focus on Singapore Cup, competition created in 1998. After the Singapore Cup and earlier League Cup, Singapore FA Cup is the next major cup competition in Singapore. For a number of years, the FA Cup was solely restricted to NFL clubs.
