Jörg Herchet
Jörg Herchet (born 20 September 1943) is a German composer. Life Born in Dresden, Herchet grew up as the son of a driver and a worker in modest circumstances. As a pupil he received recorder and cello lessons, later piano and singing lessons. Already at that time he composed his first smaller compositions. From 1962 to 1965 he studied musical composition at the Hochschule für Musik Carl Maria von Weber in Dresden with Johannes Paul Thilman and Manfred Weiss, cello with Clemens Dillner and piano with Ilse Brähmer. The use of a Franz Kafka text in his composition ''Interfragmentarium zum werke von franz k. für klavier und alt'' led to distortions with the Hochschule, whereupon Herchet continued his composition studies at the Hochschule für Musik "Hanns Eisler" in East-Berlin with Rudolf Wagner-Régeny from 1967 to 1969. Paul Dessau
Paul Dessau (19 December 189428 June 1979) was a German composer and conductor. He collaborated with Bertolt Brecht and composed incidental music for his plays, and several operas based on them. Biography Dessau was born in Hamburg into a musical family. His grandfather, Moses Berend Dessau, was a cantor in the Hamburg synagogue. From 1909, Dessau majored in violin, studying with Florian Zajic at the Klindworth-Scharwenka Conservatory in Berlin. In 1912 he became répétiteur at the Stadttheater Hamburg, the municipal theatre. He studied the work of the conductors Felix Weingartner and Arthur Nikisch and took classes in composition from . Gerhart Hauptmann
Gerhart Johann Robert Hauptmann (; 15 November 1862 – 6 June 1946) was a German dramatist and novelist. He is counted among the most important promoters of literary naturalism, though he integrated other styles into his work as well. He received the Nobel Prize in Literature in 1912. Bernhard Schneyer
Bernhard Schneyer (born 26 February 1968) is a German composer, conductor and music educator. Life Schneyer was born in Wernigerode. Music has played an important role in his life since he was five years old. So from the age of six he received violin lessons at the music school in Wernigerode and later played in the orchestra of the music school. Later he also received additional piano lessons. From the age of 15 he continued his musical education in the special classes for music (today ) in the same subjects as well as composition. Reiko Füting
Reiko Fueting (born 1970 in Königs Wusterhausen) is a German composer living in the United States. Life and career Reiko Fueting was born in 1970 in Königs Wusterhausen, just outside of Berlin in the former East Germany. He studied composition and piano at the Academy of Music Carl Maria von Weber in Dresden before moving the United States to pursue graduate degrees at Rice University and Manhattan School of Music. Fueting's primary teachers include Jörg Herchet and Nils Vigeland (composition) and Winfried Apel (piano). Fueting has been a faculty member at Manhattan School of Music since 2000. Michael Flade (born in 1975) is a German composer. Life Born in Dessau, Flade was a pupil of Hans Jürgen Wenzel in the .
