József Örmény
József Örmény ( uk, Йожеф Ермінь) (born 1960 in Uzhhorod, Ukraine) is a Ukrainian pianist of Hungarian origin. He is mostly known for performing 20th-century music including Olivier Messiaen, Karlheinz Stockhausen, Alfred Schnittke and Ukrainian composers Yevhen Stankovych, Valentin Silvestrov, and others. He was also in close creative relationship with the Polish composer Andrzej Nikodemowicz, who wrote five of his piano concerti for Örmény. Lviv National Musical Academy named after Mykola Lysenko ( uk, Львівська національна музична академія імені Миколи Лисенка) or informally Lviv Conservatory is a state conservatory located in Lviv (Ukraine). History The LNMA ''Mykola Lysenko'' traces its origins to earlier music institutions in Lviv, going back to the 19th century, when Franz Xaver Mozart created the Saint Cecilia Society. In 1838, the first music society of Lviv was created under the name of Society for Teaching of Music in Galicia (german: Gesellschaft zur Beförderung der Musik in Galizien). This by 1848 had become the Galician Music Society. In 1854, the society opened its Music Conservatory. Yevgeny Malinin
Yevgeny Malinin (8 November 19306 April 2001), PAU, was a Soviet and Russian pianist. Biography Malinin was born in Moscow. A disciple of Heinrich Neuhaus, he began his career while a student at the Moscow Conservatory. In 1949 he won (ex-aequo with his fellow student Tamara Guseva) the International Youth and Students Festival in Budapest, and was awarded the 7th prize at the IV International Chopin Piano Competition; four years later he tied with Philippe Entremont for the 2nd prize at the Long-Thibaud Competition. He graduated in 1954, and served as Neuhaus's assistant for three years. He taught until 1998, and was head of the piano department at the Moscow Conservatory (1972–78). Uzhhorod ( uk, У́жгород, , ; ) is a city and municipality on the river Uzh in western Ukraine, at the border with Slovakia and near the border with Hungary. The city is approximately equidistant from the Baltic, the Adriatic and the Black Sea (650–690 km) making it the most inland city in this part of Europe. It is the administrative center of Zakarpattia Oblast (region), as well as the administrative center of the Uzhhorod Raion (district) within the oblast.
