József Varga (Vojvodina Politician)
József F. Varga ( sr, Јожеф Ф. Варга, Jožef F. Varga; born 22 February 1959) is a former politician in Serbia from the country's Hungarian community. He was a member of the Assembly of Vojvodina from 1992 to 2004 and has held prominent municipal office in Bečej. Private career Varga is from Bačko Petrovo Selo in Bečej. He is a workplace safety engineer and has been president of the community's volunteer fire department for many years. Politician Assembly of Vojvodina Varga entered political life as a member of the Democratic Fellowship of Vojvodina Hungarians (''Demokratska zajednica vojvođanskih Mađara'', DZVM), which was at the time the dominant political party representing Hungarians in the province. Zrenjanin
Zrenjanin ( sr-Cyrl, Зрењанин, ; hu, Nagybecskerek; ro, Becicherecu Mare; sk, Zreňanin; german: Großbetschkerek) is a List of cities in Serbia, city and the administrative center of the Central Banat District in the autonomous province of Vojvodina, Serbia. The city urban area has a population of 76,511 inhabitants, while the city administrative area has 123,362 inhabitants (2011 census data). 2004 Serbian Local Elections
Local elections were held in Serbia (excluding Kosovo) on 19 September and 3 October 2004, concurrently with the 2004 Vojvodina provincial election. This was the only local election cycle held while Serbia was a member of the State Union of Serbia and Montenegro. This was the first regular cycle of local elections held in Serbia since the fall of Slobodan Milošević in October 2000, and the voting procedure was significantly changed from the previous cycle. Under the prior system, local assembly members were elected by first-past-the-post balloting in single-member constituencies. The 2004 elections were held under a system of proportional representation with a three per cent electoral threshold. Successful lists were required to receive three per cent of all votes, not only of valid votes. 2008 Vojvodina Provincial Election
Provincial elections were held for the unicameral Assembly of Serbia's northern Autonomous Province of Vojvodina on 11 May 2008, with a second-round to be held on 25 May 2008. They were scheduled by the Speaker of the National Assembly of the Republic of Serbia Oliver Dulić on 29 December 2007, as required per the Constitutional Law adopted by the National Assembly of Serbia on 30 September 2006 that proclaimed the new Constitution.
