''Jæger – i krig med eliten'' (Jaeger: At War with Denmark's Elite Special Forces) is a book by former Jægerkorpset member Thomas Rathsack. It details operations by Danish special forces fighting in Iraq and Afghanistan. The Danish Department of Defense tried to suppress its publication, fearing leaking of classified information, but the Danish newspaper '' Politiken'' published it as a supplement to its September 15 issue. Thomas Rathsack
Thomas Rathsack is a lecturer and former member of the Danish Jaeger Corps. He served with the Royal Life Guards as a sergeant before getting accepted into the Jaeger Corps in 1990. After retiring from the army he worked as a photographer and IT specialist. He reenlisted after the September 11 attacks. He writes about his experiences in Iraq and Afghanistan in his book '' Jæger – i krig med eliten'' (Jaeger: At War with Denmark's Elite Special Forces), which was widely talked about and criticized. In 2017, he featured in a TV2-produced show which put 30 men through Jaegor Corps-like physical tests. The Jaeger Corps also known as the Huntsmen Corps ( da, Jægerkorpset) is an elite special operations force of the Danish Defence part of Special Operations Command, formerly of the Royal Danish Army, based at Aalborg Air Base. History The Jaeger Corps traces its origins to 1785 when the corps was first formed as the " Jaeger Corps of Zealand". Tim Sloth Jørgensen (born 21 October 1951) is a senior officer in the Royal Danish Navy and former Chief of Defence of the Danish Armed Forces. The Chief of Defence of Denmark (), acting under the statutory responsibility of the Minister of Defence, is the chief of defence and commander of the Royal Danish Army, the Royal Danish Navy and the Royal Danish Air Force.
