Jyothilakshmi And Jayamalini
Jyothi Lakshmi (2 November 1948 – 9 August 2016) was an Indian actress who appeared in more than 130 movies. In the early 1970s, she was well noted for her leading roles and songs in movies. She also acted in female-oriented movies and was a trained dancer. She predominantly worked in Tamil, Telugu, Kannada, and Malayalam movies. In the early 1980s, her popularity gradually declined due to her sister Jayamalini's entry into the movie industry. Her debut was in the film ''Vanambadi'' in 1963 as a dancer in the song 'Yaaradi Vanthaar'. She is best remembered for her supporting roles in Thedi Vandha Mapillai and Periya Edathu Penn. Her daughter Jyothi Meena is also an actress. ''Rickshawkaran'' () is a 1971 Indian Tamil-language vigilante film directed by M. Krishnan and produced by R. M. Veerappan, who doubled as screenwriter. The film stars M. G. Ramachandran, Padmini and Manjula, with S. A. Ashokan, Major Sundarrajan and Manohar in supporting roles. It revolves around a rickshaw puller who witnesses a murder, and decides to unearth the mystery behind it. ''Rickshawkaran'' was released on 29 May 1971. ''Jaganmohini'' is a 2009 Indian Tamil-language horror film directed by N. K. Viswanathan. It is based on B. Vittalacharya's cult horror film of the same name which itself was a remake of 1951 Kannada film '' Jaganmohini''. It stars Raja, Namitha and Nila. It was partially reshot into Telugu with the same name (with Ali replacing Vadivelu) and dubbed in Bengali as Mayabini Kanya. The film bombed at the box office.
