JustGiving is a global online social platform for giving. The firm's headquarters are located in Bankside, London. History In 2000, Zarine Kharas and Anne-Marie Huby founded JustGiving, (initially clickforaction.com) a company to provide online tools and processing services to enable the collection of charitable donations. 2006 was the firm's first profitable year. In June 2011, the firm claimed that it had provided its service for more than 9,000 UK registered charities and 1.9 million fundraising pages for users, collecting over £770 million since launch. Anne-Marie Paule Monique Huby (born November 1966) is a Belgian businesswoman, the co-founder, with Zarine Kharas, of Justgiving, a global online giving platform. Huby started her career as a radio journalist in Belgium, before becoming head of the UK arm of the charity Médecins Sans Frontières. Huby and Kharas founded Justgiving in 2000. Dame Zarine Kharas Order of the British Empire, DBE (born June 1951) is the co-founder, with Anne-Marie Huby, of Justgiving, a global online giving platform. Kharas was born on June 1951, in a Parsi family and grew up in Karachi, Pakistan, the daughter of a civil engineer father and a housewife mother. She came to the UK to study law at Cambridge and remained. She worked for Lawrence Graham and Linklaters & Paines, both solicitor firms specialising in corporate and financial law. Stephen Sutton
Stephen Robert Sutton (16 December 1994 – 14 May 2014), was an English blogger and charity activist known for his blog ''Stephen's Story'' and his fundraising efforts for the Teenage Cancer Trust charity for the aid of teenagers with cancer. By the second anniversary of his death, £5.5 million had been raised in his memory. Sutton performed well at school, but withdrew his applications to university in 2012 after his terminal prognosis for colorectal cancer. His father had fought the disease twice, and both were predisposed to it through Lynch syndrome. Sutton had struggled to get a diagnosis as doctors did not believe that colorectal cancer could occur in someone so young. On May 24, 2022, a mass shooting occurred at Robb Elementary School in Uvalde, Texas, United States, where 18-year-old Salvador Ramos, a former student at the school, fatally shot nineteen students and two teachers, and wounded seventeen others.
