Jurong East MRT Station
Jurong East MRT station is an elevated Mass Rapid Transit (MRT) interchange station on the North South (NSL) (which terminates at this station) and East West (EWL) lines in Jurong East, Singapore, operated by SMRT Trains. It is located at the heart of Jurong Lake District, within the vicinity of JCube, Jem, Westgate, IMM, Ng Teng Fong General Hospital and Jurong East Bus Interchange. The station opened on 5 November 1988 as part of the MRT system extension to Jurong. The station was initially the terminus of the Branch line and became the terminus of the NSL after the NSL was merged with the Branch line. An additional track and platforms were added when the station went through upgrades in 2010 as part of the Jurong East Modification Project (JEMP). Ng Teng Fong General Hospital (NTFGH) is a 700-bed hospital located in Jurong East, Singapore. Named after Singaporean late entrepreneur, Ng Teng Fong, the hospital is part of an integrated development together with the adjoining Jurong Community Hospital. It began operations on 30 June 2015 after JurongHealth's move from Alexandra Hospital and was officially opened on 10 October that year. The Kawasaki Heavy Industries & CSR Qingdao Sifang C151A is the fourth generation electric multiple unit rolling stock in operation on the North South and East West lines of Singapore's Mass Rapid Transit (MRT) system, manufactured by Kawasaki Heavy Industries (KHI) and CRRC Qingdao Sifang under Contract 151A. Their introduction to the network has increased the capacity of both lines by 15%. They are the last batch of rolling stock on the two lines to be painted in the "Blackbird" livery. Developed from the KNS C751B sets, further developments of the type include the C151B and C151C featuring design updates and changes. The C151A was the first rolling stock on the MRT network to be manufactured in China. Raymond Lim Siang Keat ( zh, s=林双吉, p=Lín Shuāngjí, born 24 June 1959) is a former Singaporean politician. A member of the governing People's Action Party (PAP), Lim has been a Member of Parliament (MP) representing the East Coast Group Representation Constituency for Fengshan from 2001 to 2015. Woodlands MRT Station
Woodlands MRT station is a Mass Rapid Transit (MRT) interchange station on the North South (NSL) and Thomson–East Coast (TEL) lines in Singapore. Located in Woodlands, the MRT station was the first to feature an underground bus interchange underneath the NSL station. The station is also integrated with surrounding developments, including Causeway Point and the Woodlands Civic Centre. The NSL station was first announced in November 1991 as part of the Woodlands MRT extension. Completed on 10 February 1996, the elevated station has a circular, barrel-like roof with beige and green tiles. Min Chan's ''Faces II'' sculpture is displayed near the station. Choa Chu Kang MRT/LRT station is an above-ground Mass Rapid Transit (MRT) and Light Rail Transit (LRT) interchange station in Choa Chu Kang, Singapore. It is an interchange between the North South line and Bukit Panjang LRT, serving as the western terminus of the latter. The station is located between Choa Chu Kang Bus Interchange and Lot One in the Choa Chu Kang town centre. Currently, the station's LRT platform is the only station on the Bukit Panjang LRT to use a Spanish solution, and is the second rail station in Singapore to use such a configuration after VivoCity station on the Sentosa Express. Lakeside MRT station is an above-ground Mass Rapid Transit (MRT) station on the East West line in Jurong West, Singapore. This station is built on the northwestern bank of the Jurong Lake, hence its name. Lakeside station provides MRT access to residents living in Taman Jurong and Hong Kah. Ulu Pandan Depot
Ulu Pandan Depot (Simplified Chinese: 乌鲁班丹车厂; Traditional Chinese: 烏魯班丹車廠) is a depot near Jurong East, Singapore and it serves the trains on the North South line and the East West line. With the opening of Tuas West Depot in 2017, fewer trains were deployed from Ulu Pandan Depot for the East West line, with majority of the trains were for the North South line. It has a capacity of 45 trains and has an area of 130,000 square metres. Train inspections are carried out at this depot. Jurong East Bus Interchange is a bus interchange located in Jurong East, Singapore. An open-air single-level bus terminal, it is connected to the adjacent Jurong East MRT station via a link bridge. History The original facility used for the bus interchange was built on 30 June 1985, west of the present MRT station and opposite the Jurong CPF building at Jurong Gateway Road. Most of the bus services in the bus interchange originated from the Teban Gardens Terminal and some from the former Jurong Bus Interchange, which were re-routed to this interchange when it opened. For years, despite being in the zone marked as Jurong Regional Centre, the bus interchange had a rather low level of passenger flow as compared to the larger Boon Lay Bus Interchange serving Jurong West New Town, the Jurong Industrial Estate, as well as institutions in the west including the Nanyang Technological University.
