Philadelphia Lone Star Football Club is an American professional development soccer club based in Southwest Philadelphia, Pennsylvania that competes in USL League Two and the National Premier Soccer League, both leagues which sit in the fourth tier of the American soccer pyramid. Nicknamed "the Stars", the club was founded as Junior Lone Star Football Club in 2001, but changed its name to Philadelphia Lone Star F.C. in 2018. History Philadelphia Lone Star F.C. was established in 2001 under the name of Junior Lone Star Football Club by a group of Liberian American immigrant soccer players. The club was named ''Junior Lone Star FC'', after the Liberian national football team, because most of the team's players were from Liberia at that time. Liberty Bell
The Liberty Bell, previously called the State House Bell or Old State House Bell, is an iconic symbol of American independence, located in Philadelphia. Originally placed in the steeple of the Pennsylvania State House (now renamed Independence Hall), the bell today is located across the street in the Liberty Bell Center in Independence National Historical Park. 2014 NPSL Season
The 2014 National Premier Soccer League season was the 102nd season of FIFA-sanctioned soccer in the United States, and the 12th season of the NPSL. The season began in May 2014. RVA Football Club were the defending champions, having won their first NPSL title the previous season. Changes from 2013 The league added a new Northwest Conference in the West Region in 2014. The league also split the Great Lakes Conference into two separate conferences, Great Lakes East and Great Lakes West. Derrick Jones Amaniampong (born March 3, 1997) is a professional soccer player who plays as a midfielder for Major League Soccer club Charlotte FC. Born in Ghana, he represented the United States national under-23 team. Youth Born in Bantama, Ghana, Jones and his family moved to Philadelphia, Pennsylvania in 2012 when he was 14. After arriving in Philadelphia, Jones began playing with Junior Lone Star FC, a club team founded by immigrants from West Africa living in Philadelphia. Anthony Allison (born May 5, 1987) is a Liberian footballer who currently plays for Philadelphia Lone Star FC in the National Premier Soccer League. Allison previously played for the Puerto Rico Islanders in the USSF Division 2 Professional League in 2010 before signing with IFK Sundsvall in 2011.
