Julien Wanders
Julien Wanders (born 18 March 1996) is a Swiss long-distance runner. He currently holds the List of European records in athletics, European record for the half marathon with a time of 59:13, which was set at the Ras Al Khaimah Half Marathon in 2019 and the European record for the 10K run, with a time of 27:13 set in Valencia on January 12, 2020. Wanders spends about half the year training in Iten, Kenya, and the other half training in Europe. IAAF World Half Marathon Championships
The World Athletics Half Marathon Championships is a biennial international half marathon competition organised by World Athletics. The competition was launched as the IAAF World Half Marathon Championships in 1992 and held annually until 2010. It was renamed the IAAF World Road Running Championships in 2006 and reduced in distance to a 20K run, but reverted to the half marathon distance the following year and to the original competition name the year after that. The competition was renamed to its current title in 2020 after the governing body rebranded itself moving away from the long-standing International Association of Athletics Federations (IAAF) moniker. The Corrida de Houilles, officially ''Corrida pédestre internationale de Houilles'' (Houilles International Footrace), is an annual 10K run that takes place at the end of December in Houilles, France. The competition was created in 1972 by Alexandre Joly, a French politician who would later become Mayor of Houilles. He was inspired by the Saint Silvester Road Race in São Paulo and decided to set up his own local race in his hometown with the same format – hosting the race on New Year's Eve.
