Megève
Megève (; frp, Megéva) is a commune in the Haute-Savoie department in the Auvergne-Rhône-Alpes region in Southeastern France with a population of more than 3,000 residents. The town is well known as a ski resort near Mont Blanc in the French Alps. Conceived in the 1920s as a French alternative to St. Moritz by the Rothschilds, it was the first purpose-built resort in the Alps. The 2008 Le Gruyère European Curling Championships were held at Swedbank Arena in Örnsköldsvik, Sweden December 6–13, 2008. In a rematch of the men's A-Group final from the 2007 European Curling Championships, David Murdoch led Scotland to a second straight gold medal over Norway's Thomas Ulsrud 7–6 in an extra end. 2007 European Curling Championships
The 2007 Le Gruyère European Curling Championships were held in Füssen, Germany December 1-8, 2007. Scotland, skipped by David Murdoch, won the gold medal by beating Norway's Thomas Ulsrud 5-3 in the final. Norway had not lost a single game entering the final.
