Saint Andrew Parish, Jamaica
Saint Andrew is a parish, situated in the southeast of Jamaica in the county of Surrey. It lies north, west and east of Kingston, and stretches into the Blue Mountains. In the 2011 census, it had 573,369, the highest population of any of the parishes in Jamaica. George William Gordon (d. 1865), one of Jamaica's seven National Heroes, was born in this parish. The University of Technology, Jamaica (UTech, Ja.), formerly the College of Arts, Science and Technology, is a public university in Jamaica. The 18th Central American and Caribbean Junior Championships were held in the Estadio Olímpico Félix Sánchez in Santo Domingo, Dominican Republic, between 2–4 July 2011, and organized by the Federación Dominicana de Asociaciones de Atletismo (FDAA). The event was open for athletes from the invited countries, that are members of the Central American and Caribbean Athletic Confederation (CACAC), in two categories: Junior A 17 to 19 years as of 31 December 2010 (Born between 1991 and 1993), and Junior B 14 to 16 years as of 31 December 2010 (Born between 1994 and 1996). Kemar Bailey-Cole (born 10 January 1992) is a male track and field athlete from Jamaica, who mainly competes in the 100m. He is the 2014 Commonwealth Games 100 metres champion. Career He qualified for the 2012 Summer Olympics running a personal best 10.00 sec at the Jamaican Olympic trials over 100m coming 5th earning him a spot on the 4×100 relay for Jamaica at the 2012 Summer Olympics. He later improved his time to 9.97 in Brussels on September 7, 2012. He is coached by Glen Mills who also coaches Usain Bolt and Yohan Blake. Wolmer's Schools in Kingston, Jamaica, consist of Wolmer's Pre-School, Wolmer's Preparatory School and two high schools: Wolmer's Trust High School For Girls and Wolmer's Trust High School for Boys.
