Julian Dziedzina
Julian Dziedzina (21 October 1930, Lesko, Poland – 21 May 2007, Łódź) was a Polish director, film critic, and a longtime lecturer at the National Film School in Łódź. Life In 1956, he graduated from the Directing Department at the National Film School in Łódź. He started a puppet theater and amateur stage in Wałbrzych. He was also a film critic. As a director he made his debut with the film ''Koniec nocy'', starring, among others, Zbigniew Cybulski and Roman Polański. His most famous work was Bokser, with Daniel Olbrychski in the lead role. The film ''Field'' received three awards at the International Film Festival for Youth in Venice. Dziedzina was buried in the Starym cemetery in Łódź. Lesko
Lesko (or ''Lisko'' until 1926; ua, Лісько - Lisko; la, Lescow, alias ''Olesco Lescovium''; yi, לינסק-Linsk) is a town in south-eastern Poland with a population of 5,755 (02.06.2009). situated in the Bieszczady mountains. It is located in the heartland of the Doły (Pits), and its average altitude is above sea level, although there are some hills located within the confines of the city. Eroica (1958 Film)
''Eroica'' (released in some territories as ''Heroism'') is a 1958 Polish film by Andrzej Munk, and his second feature film after Man on the Tracks (1956). ''Eroica'' is composed of two separate stories, presenting satirical critiques of two aspects of the Polish character: acquisitive opportunism, and a romantic fascination for heroic martyrs. The film’s title is an ironic reference to Ludwig van Beethoven”s Third Symphony, which the composer initially dedicated to then French head Consulate Napoleon Bonaparte. When Napoleon declared himself Emperor, Beethoven, a devout republican, withdrew the dedication in disgust and titled the work simply “Eroica.” ''Eroica'' premiered on Polish Television in 1972 and depicts wartime couriers crossing the Tatra Mountains. Daniel Marcel Olbrychski (; born 27 February 1945) is a Polish film and theatre actor who is widely considered one of the greatest Polish actors of his generation. He appeared in 180 films and TV productions and is best known for leading roles in several Andrzej Wajda movies including '' The Promised Land'' and also known for playing a defector and spymaster Vassily Orlov alongside Hollywood actress Angelina Jolie in the movie ''Salt''.
