Julian Day (artist)
Julian Day is a visual artist, composer and broadcaster. His artwork has featured at the 2017 California-Pacific Triennial at Orange County Museum of Art, the 8th Asia Pacific Triennial at the Queensland Gallery of Modern Art, Australian Centre for Contemporary Art (NEW16) and Museum of Contemporary Art Australia. He won the ARTAND Australia Credit Suisse Contemporary Art Award and the 2015 Fauvette Loureiro Memorial Artists Travel Scholarship from Sydney College of the Arts. His compositions have featured at Huddersfield Contemporary Music Festival, Bang on a Can Marathon, MATA Festival and Royal Academy of Music's Piano Festival. He performs as An Infinity Room (AIR), a project for multiple synthesizers, and co-directs the project Super Critical Mass which brings together 'temporary communities' to sound out locations using identical sound sources. Orange County Museum Of Art
The Orange County Museum of Art (OCMA) is a modern and contemporary art museum located on the campus of the Segerstrom Center for the Arts in Costa Mesa, California. The Gallery of Modern Art (GOMA) is an art museum located within the Queensland Cultural Centre in the South Bank precinct of Brisbane, Queensland, Australia. The gallery is part of QAGOMA. The Australian Centre For Contemporary Art (ACCA) is a contemporary art gallery in Melbourne, Australia. The gallery is located on Sturt Street in the Melbourne Arts Precinct, in the inner suburb of Southbank. Designed by Wood Marsh Architects, the building was completed in 2002, and includes facilities for Chunky Move dance company and the Malthouse Theatre. The Museum of Contemporary Art Australia (MCA), located on George Street in Sydney's The Rocks neighbourhood, is solely dedicated to exhibiting, interpreting, and collecting contemporary art, from across Australia and around the world. The Sydney College of the Arts (SCA) is a contemporary art school that was a faculty of the University of Sydney from 1990 until 2017, when it became a school of the Faculty of Arts and Social Sciences. Bang on a Can is a multi-faceted contemporary classical music organization based in New York City. It was founded in 1987 by three American composers who remain its artistic directors: Julia Wolfe, David Lang, and Michael Gordon. Called "the country's most important vehicle for contemporary music" by the ''San Francisco Chronicle'', the organization focuses on the presentation of new concert music, and has presented hundreds of musical events worldwide. MATA Festival
The MATA Festival is a New York-based annual contemporary classical music festival devoted to championing the works of young composers. It was founded in 1996 by Philip Glass, Lisa Bielawa and Eleonor Sandresky and is currently under the leadership of executive director Amanda Gookin. History Bielawa and Sandresky were part of Glass's touring ensemble in the early 1990s; during road tours, the three conceived of concerts that would serve as an outlet for unaffiliated composers. These concerts would later form the basis of the MATA festival. MATA's concerts were originally presented at the Anthology Film Archives, leading to its name: the acronym stands for "Music at the Anthology".
