Julia Croft
Julia Croft is a New Zealand performance artist. Biography Croft grew up in Auckland, New Zealand and graduated from Toi Whakaari: New Zealand Drama School in 2008 with a Bachelor of Performing Arts (Acting). She also completed a bachelor's degree in English and theatre at the University of Canterbury. Croft has also trained at L'École Philippe Gaulier, L’Ecole Philippe Gaullier in Paris, France. In 2017 she and Nisha Madhan co-created a live art act called ''Power Ballad,'' which won Best Performer and Best Live Art at the Auckland Fringe Festival and the Discovery Award at the Melbourne Fringe Festival. L'École Philippe Gaulier
Philippe Gaulier (born in Paris, 4 March 1943) is a French master clown, pedagogue, and professor of theatre. He is the founder of École Philippe Gaulier, a prestigious French theatre school in Étampes, outside Paris. He studied under Jacques Lecoq in the mid-1960s and was an instructor at L'École Internationale de Théâtre Jacques Lecoq in the late 1970s. As well as performing as a clown, he is also a playwright and director. He has published ''The Tormentor'' (''Le Gégèneur''), a book discussing his thoughts on the theatre and containing exercises designed to develop an actor's skill. Gaulier is known for performing both clown and bouffon comic genres and is thought by some to be the world's leading authority on the "Bouffon", a comic genre he holds as a sort of inverted Clown, where a balance is struck between grotesqueness and charm. Nisha Madhan
Nisha Madhan (born ) is a New Zealand actor, director and producer with experience in film, theatre and television. She appeared on the New Zealand soap opera ''Shortland Street'' for three years. She is a regular performer in theatres in New Zealand and has appeared both nationally and internationally in theatre productions including with the Indian Ink Theatre Company. Madhan has also created, produced and directed theatre shows including co-creating and directing the award-winning ''Working On My Night Moves''. Background Madhan is from New Delhi but grew up in Qatar. She moved to New Zealand when she was a teenager, and attended Northcote College. She went on to study performing arts at Unitec. Melbourne Fringe Festival
The Melbourne Fringe Festival is an annual independent arts festival in Melbourne, Australia, usually over three weeks from late September to early October.
