Juergen Adams
Juergen Adams (born February 13, 1961) is a retired German professional ice hockey player. Adams began his career in the school and youth teams of the Mannheimer ERC. In 1980, he came as a student to the professional team and was immediately with this German Hockey champion under coach Heinz Weisenbach. After another seven seasons for the Mannheimer ERC, he spent two years with the Eintracht Frankfurt before he ended his career as a professional after a year at EC Bad Nauheim Rote Teufel Bad Nauheim, also known as EC Bad Nauheim, is an ice hockey team in Bad Nauheim, Germany. Mannheimer ERC
The Adler Mannheim (English: ''Mannheim Eagles'', formerly Mannheimer ERC) is a professional ice hockey team of the Deutsche Eishockey Liga, the highest-level ice hockey league in Germany. The team is based in Mannheim, a city in the northern part of Baden-Württemberg. Currently, the team plays at SAP Arena, where they moved to at the beginning of the 2005–06 season after having played at Eisstadion am Friedrichspark for nearly seven decades from 1938 through 2005. They have won the German Championship a total of eight times, seven of those coming after 1994 in the Deutsche Eishockey Liga. Frankfurt Lions
The Frankfurt Lions were a German professional men's ice hockey club from Frankfurt, Germany that played in the Deutsche Eishockey Liga. The club ceased operations in 2010 due to financial difficulty. History The hockey team was founded as a section of the renowned sports club ''Eintracht Frankfurt'' in 1959. After the section split from the club on March 5, 1991, the hockey team was renamed the Frankfurter ESC "Die Löwen" (meaning ''The Lions''). When the DEL formed in 1994, the team became known as the Frankfurt Lions. It experienced its greatest success in 2004 when it won the DEL, but folded in 2010 after having had their licence revoked and was replaced by a phoenix club, the Löwen Frankfurt. Forward (ice Hockey)
In ice hockey, a forward is a player, and a position on the ice, whose primary responsibility is to score and assist goals. Generally, the forwards try to stay in three different lanes of the ice going from goal to goal. It is not mandatory, however, to stay in a lane. Staying in a lane aids in forming the common offensive strategy known as a triangle. One forward obtains the puck and then the forwards pass it between themselves making the goalie move side to side. This strategy opens up the net for scoring opportunities. This strategy allows for a constant flow of the play, attempting to maintain the control of play by one team in the offensive zone. The forwards can pass to the defence players playing at the blue line, thus freeing up the play and allowing either a shot from the point (blue line position where the defence stands) or a pass back to the offence. Ice hockey (or simply hockey) is a team sport played on ice skates, usually on an ice skating rink with lines and markings specific to the sport. It belongs to a family of sports called hockey.
