Jubilee (Japanese Breakfast Album)
''Jubilee'' is the third studio album by American alternative pop band Japanese Breakfast, released on June 4, 2021 through Dead Oceans. Released shortly after the publication of her memoir '' Crying in H Mart'', frontwoman Michelle Zauner said, "After spending the last five years writing about grief," she wanted Japanese Breakfast's third album "to be about joy". Upon release, ''Jubilee'' received widespread acclaim from critics who praised its joyfulness and its production. It received a nomination for Best Alternative Music Album at the 64th Annual Grammy Awards and won 4 Libera Awards, including Record of the Year. Japanese Breakfast
Japanese Breakfast is an indie pop band headed by Korean-American musician Michelle Zauner. Zauner started the band as a side project in 2013, when she was leading the Philadelphia-based emo group Little Big League. She has said that she named the band after seeing a GIF of Japanese breakfast and deciding that the term would be considered "exotic" to Americans; she also thought it would make others wonder what a Japanese breakfast consists of. In 2014, she returned to her hometown of Eugene, Oregon, to care for her ailing mother. She continued to record music and songs, first to cope with stress, then, after her mother died, with grief. 64th Annual Grammy Awards
The 64th Annual Grammy Awards ceremony was held at the MGM Grand Garden Arena in Las Vegas on April 3, 2022. It recognized the best recordings, compositions, and artists of the eligibility year, running from September 1, 2020, to September 30, 2021. The album was released in the U.S. through Yellow K Records on April 1, 2016, and internationally through Dead Oceans on September 19, 2016. Background Michelle Zauner fronted the Philadelphian emo band Little Big League from 2011 until 2014, when she returned to her hometown of Eugene, Oregon, where her mother had been diagnosed with cancer.
