Jubei-chan
is a Japanese anime television series created by Akitaro Daichi (''Fruits Basket'', ''Tsukikage Ran''). ''Jubei-chan'' follows Jiyu Nanohana, a modern junior high school girl and unwilling heir to the Yagyu Jubei school of swordsmanship. The series is recognized for its magical girl stylings, including a mystical artifact, the Lovely Eyepatch, that serves as the source of the heroine's power. is a Japanese anime producer and anime entrepreneur, the co-founder of Madhouse (company), Madhouse, as well as the founder of MAPPA (studio), MAPPA and Studio M2. is a Japanese anime director, producer and photography director. Career Daichi is a native of Gunma Prefecture and a graduate of Tokyo Polytechnic University. He originally aspired to be a stage photographer, but entered the employ of Tokyo Animation Film, an anime photography company. His first work in the industry was as photography director for the ''Doraemon'' movie ''History of Nobita's Outer Space Trailblazing'' (ドラえもん のび太の宇宙開拓史).
