Jubei-chan
is a Japanese anime television series created by Akitaro Daichi (''Fruits Basket'', ''Tsukikage Ran''). ''Jubei-chan'' follows Jiyu Nanohana, a modern junior high school girl and unwilling heir to the Yagyu Jubei school of swordsmanship. The series is recognized for its magical girl stylings, including a mystical artifact, the Lovely Eyepatch, that serves as the source of the heroine's power. ''Jubei-chan'' comprises two television series, which were originally licensed in the U.S. by two companies. ''The Secret of the Lovely Eyepatch'' premiered April 5, 1999 and revolves around Jiyu Nanohana coping with her newly entrusted powers and responsibilities and the centuries-old feud between the Yagyu and Ryujoji schools. Masao Maruyama (film Producer)
is a Japanese anime producer and anime entrepreneur, the co-founder of Madhouse (company), Madhouse, as well as the founder of MAPPA (studio), MAPPA and Studio M2. He is the current chairman of MAPPA and president of Studio M2. Maruyama has been involved in the Japanese animation business for more than 50 years. Akitaro Daichi
is a Japanese anime director, producer and photography director. Career Daichi is a native of Gunma Prefecture and a graduate of Tokyo Polytechnic University. He originally aspired to be a stage photographer, but entered the employ of Tokyo Animation Film, an anime photography company. His first work in the industry was as photography director for the ''Doraemon'' movie ''History of Nobita's Outer Space Trailblazing'' (ドラえもん のび太の宇宙開拓史). After five years, Daichi changed jobs and worked for a video production company making karaoke videos among other things, but he later returned to the anime industry and focused on direction.
