Akitaro Daichi
is a Japanese anime director, producer and photography director. Career Daichi is a native of Gunma Prefecture and a graduate of Tokyo Polytechnic University. He originally aspired to be a stage photographer, but entered the employ of Tokyo Animation Film, an anime photography company. His first work in the industry was as photography director for the ''Doraemon'' movie ''History of Nobita's Outer Space Trailblazing'' (ドラえもん のび太の宇宙開拓史). After five years, Daichi changed jobs and worked for a video production company making karaoke videos among other things, but he later returned to the anime industry and focused on direction. In 1994, he attracted attention for his storyboard work on ''Akazukin Chacha'', and in 1995 he made his debut as a series director on '' Nurse Angel Ririka SOS''. is a Japanese anime television series conceived and directed by Akitaro Daichi, with a screenplay by Hideyuki Kurata. It premiered in Japan on the WOWOW television station on October 14, 1999 and ran until January 20, 2000. It was licensed for Region 1 DVD English language release by Central Park Media under their US Manga Corps label. Following the 2009 bankruptcy and liquidation of Central Park Media, ADV Films rescued the series for a boxset re-release on July 7, 2009. However, the ADV re-release is now out of print. is a Japanese manga series created by Rū Tatsuki about a spherical cat named Poyo and the family that adopts him. It was adapted into an anime television series in January 2012. It started in Shueisha's ''shōnen'' manga magazine ''Monthly Shōnen Jump'' in the January 2000 issue.
