Juan Carlos Mesa (May 15, 1930 – August 2, 2016) was an Argentine humorist, screenwriter, and director. Life and work Juan Carlos Mesa was born in Córdoba, Argentina, in 1930. Following a stint as a writer in Uruguay for a sitcom, ''Telecataplum'', He began his career in Argentine television in 1967 as a junior writer for comedian Carlos Balá and first collaborated on a film script in 1971, with Enrique Carreras' family comedy, ''El veraneo de los Campanelli''. He was reunited with Carreras for the film's 1972 sequel, wrote later that year for Fernando Siro in his picaresque comedy, ''Autocine mon amour'', and in 1976, earned his first credit as lead writer in Palito Ortega's ''Dos locos en el aire''. Jorge Raúl Porcel de Peralta (; 7 September 1936 – 16 May 2006), known as Jorge Porcel, was an Argentine comedy actor and television host. He was nicknamed ''El Gordo de América'' (''America's Fat Guy''). Porcel is considered, along with Alberto Olmedo, one of Argentina's greatest comic actors of the twentieth century. Film career Porcel worked in 49 movies, starting with 1962's ''Disloque en Mar del Plata'', and ending with ''Carlito's Way'' (1993). Many of these 49 movies were collaborations with Olmedo. Alberto Olmedo (24 August 1933 – 5 March 1988) was an Argentine comedian and actor, popularly regarded as one of the most important comedians in the history of his country, for his outstanding work in television, cinema and theater. Olmedo was born in the city of Rosario. In his teens, he was a gifted gymnast and an aspiring actor who tried his luck with several amateur theater companies and enjoyed some local success. Olmedo moved to Buenos Aires in 1954. One year later, while working as a technician in Canal 7, Argentina's first television station, his improvisation skills caught the attention of the management, who gave him acting jobs in several TV shows.
