Juan Andrade
Juan Andrade Rodriguez (Madrid, February 3, 1898 – May 1, 1981) was a Spanish communist, journalist, politician and editor. Biography By profession, Andrade was a government employee at the Ministry of Finance and began his political career in his teens upon joining at 14 the youth wing of the Radical Republican Party. After a few years, at the age of 16, he joined a group of socialist students and began his militancy in the Socialist Youth of Spain (''Juventudes Socialistas de España''; JSE), the youth organization associated with the Spanish Socialist Workers' Party (''Partido Socialista Obrero Español''; PSOE). In 1919, he took over as editor of ''Renovacion'', the official weekly newspaper of the JSE. He was a known supporter of the Bolshevik Revolution and the Communist International, and collaborated from 1917 with ''Nuestra Palabra'', a weekly pro-Communist journal, to print articles in ''Renovacion'' that were more left-leaning than the doctrines of the PSOE. Vichy France (french: Régime de Vichy; 10 July 1940 – 9 August 1944), officially the French State ('), was the fascist French state headed by Marshal Philippe Pétain during World War II. Franz Mehring
Franz Erdmann Mehring (27 February 1846 – 28 January 1919) was a German communist historian, literary critic, philosopher, and revolutionary socialist politician who was a senior member of the Spartacus League during the German Revolution of 1918–1919. Biography Early years Mehring was born 27 February 1846 in Schlawe, Pomerania, the son of a retired military officer and senior tax official. He studied classical philology at the University of Leipzig and received his doctorate in 1882 with the dissertation: "The German social democracy, their history and their teaching". Charles Marx
Louis Charles Marx (26 July 1903 – 13 June 1946) was a Luxembourgian politician for the Communist Party of Luxembourg. He was a medical doctor by profession, and fought for the French Resistance during the Second World War. He had very well succeeded in his medical studies in Paris starting as an intern (1929), to become chief of clinical surgery, then a laureate of the Académie Nationale de Médecine and finally a member of the Committee of the French Association of Surgery (1935). He founded his own hospital, of 50 beds, in Ettelbruck, in north-western Luxembourg. There, in 1940, he helped two interned French airmen to escape to France. Rosa Luxemburg (; ; pl, Róża Luksemburg or ; 5 March 1871 – 15 January 1919) was a Polish and naturalised-German revolutionary socialist, Marxist philosopher and anti-war activist. Wilebaldo Solano Alonso (7 July 1916, in Burgos, Spain – 7 September 2010, in Barcelona, Spain) was a Spanish Communist activist during the Spanish Civil War, especially noted for his work with Socialist youth organizations as a member of the ''Workers' Party of Marxist Unification'' (POUM).
