Juab Valley
The Juab Valley is a long valley located on the eastern edge of Juab County, Utah, United States. Description The valley is in a region of dissected mountain ranges and valleys in the southern Wasatch Front, with the Wasatch Range on the northeast and the San Pitch Mountains on the southeast. The valley's north-northeast edge borders on the south of Utah Valley and another section of Utah Valley's southwest, the Goshen Valley. The eastern end of the northern border of Juab County is on the valley's north; the eastern end of the southern county is on the valley's southeast. Juab Valley is linear, mostly north-south trending, with the major city-center of Nephi adjacent north of the valley center. The extreme north of the valley is adjacent to Santaquin which is located between the three valleys of southwest Utah Valley, east Goshen Valley, and north Juab Valley. Nephi, Utah
Nephi ( ) is a city in Juab County, Utah, United States. It is part of the Provo–Orem metropolitan area. The population was 6,443 at the 2020 census. It is the county seat of Juab County. It was settled by Mormon pioneers in 1851 as Salt Creek, and it acquired its current name in 1882. It is the principal city in the Juab Valley, an agricultural area. Nephi was named after Nephi, son of Lehi, from the Book of Mormon. History Before the area was settled, the site along Salt Creek was first a camping place along the Old Mormon Road to Southern California. Currant Creek is a stream in eastern Juab County and southern Utah County in northern Utah, United States. Description The creek rises on the south end of a spring-fed marsh area in the northern part of Juab Valley, in eastern Juab County, about south‑southeast of the Burriston Ponds, west of Interstate 15, and about north‑northwest of the center of the city of Nephi, with an approximate elevation of . From its source the creek runs north‑northwest though the marsh area. Within the marsh area, the creek flows through several unnamed ponds and joins with several other unnamed streams (with headwaters that are just east and west of the source of Currant Creek). Yuba State Park
Yuba State Park is a state park on the Sevier Bridge Reservoir (also known as Yuba Reservoir) in Juab and Sanpete counties in central Utah, United States. Description The park is located approximately south of Nephi. Recreational opportunities include camping, boating, swimming, fishing, and nearby off highway vehicle riding. History Yuba State Park got its name from the individuals who built the dam. Local farmers and ranchers had to build the dam themselves or risk losing their water rights. The men working on the structure called it the U.B. Dam. As they worked they sang a song that stated they were damned if they worked and damned if they didn't. The phonetic sound of the reservoir's name was eventually spelled Yuba. Sevier River
The Sevier River (pronounced "severe") is a -long river in the Great Basin of southwestern Utah in the United States. Originating west of Bryce Canyon National Park, the river flows north through a chain of high farming valleys and steep canyons along the west side of the Sevier Plateau before turning southwest and terminating in the endorheic basin of Sevier Lake in the Sevier Desert. It is used extensively for irrigation along its course, with the consequence that Sevier Lake is usually dry. The Sevier River drainage basin of covers more than 13 percent of Utah and includes parts of ten counties, of which the river flows through seven. Santaquin ( ) is a city in Utah and Juab counties in the U.S. state of Utah. It is part of the Provo–Orem metropolitan area. The population was 13,725 at the 2020 census. Geography Santaquin lies southeast of Utah Lake in southern Utah County, with a small portion extending south into Juab County. The Wasatch Front is a metropolitan region in the north-central part of the U.S. state of Utah. It consists of a chain of contiguous cities and towns stretched along the Wasatch Range from approximately Provo in the south to Logan in the north, and containing the cities of Salt Lake City, Bountiful, Layton, and Ogden. A valley is an elongated low area often running between Hill, hills or Mountain, mountains, which will typically contain a river or stream running from one end to the other.
