A lapsed Catholic is a Catholic who is non-practicing. Such a person may still identify as a Catholic, and remains one according to canon law. Excommunication or an act of defection only separate a person from the sacraments. Nothing can terminate membership in the church. Interpretations The Merriam-Webster Dictionary definition of "lapsed" in relation to "lapsed Catholic" is "no longer believing or following the teachings of a religion". The Oxford American Writer's Thesaurus associates the term "lapsed Catholic" as one who is backsliding. Lapsing is thus not necessarily connected with a lack of belief. However, author Daniel Ford links being a lapsed Catholic with rejection of Catholic teaching, either totally or by being an " à la carte Catholic". Adela Vinczeová (; born 12 October 1980) is a Slovakia, Slovak radio and television presenter. She has presented television shows such as Česko Slovenská SuperStar 2009, the Anděl Awards and the Czech Lion Awards. She is a daughter of Slovak writer, agent of communist secret service (known as agent Lotos) and politician Jozef Banáš. She grew up in Eastern Germany together with her sister Maria. Living abroad helped her gain various language skills and experiences, however, as she always claims, she has been dedicated to her homeland, Slovakia. In 2015, Banášová won her ninth title at the OTO Awards, making her the most successful person in the ceremony's history. The Slovak Democratic and Christian Union – Democratic Party ( sk, Slovenská demokratická a kresťanská únia – Demokratická strana, SDKÚ-DS) was a liberal-conservative, Christian-democratic political party in Slovakia.
