Jovita Luna
María Eugenia Luna (11 June 1924 – 12 January 2006), also known as Jovita Luna, was an Argentine singer and actress. Biography She was born in Buenos Aires, and started her career in the popular group Marilyn in 1932, beside Nelly Prince and Alba Solís. Afterwards, she started in the theatre heading with Beba Bidart and Nélida Roca. In 1941, through the EPT company, she played a ''Palomita'' integrating the duet "The ''Palomitas''" in the drama ''Joven, viuda y estanciera'', under the direction of Luis José Bayón Herrera and the lead of Mecha Ortiz. The plot indicated that Elena (Ortiz) goes to return to his house and confronts León (Santiago Arrieta) and the person to charge of the ranch (Santiago Gómez Cou) with a struggle for winning her love. Atahualpa Yupanqui (; born Héctor Roberto Chavero Aramburu; 31 January 1908 – 23 May 1992) was an Argentine singer, songwriter, guitarist, and writer. He is considered the most important Argentine folk musician of the 20th century. Biography Yupanqui was born Héctor Roberto Chavero Aramburu in Pergamino (Buenos Aires Province), in the Argentine pampas, about 200 kilometers away from Buenos Aires. His father was a mestizo of Quechua and Basque origins, while his mother was born in the Basque country. His family moved to the Northwest city of Tucumán when he was nine. In a bow to two legendary Incan kings, he adopted the stage name Atahualpa Yupanqui, which became famous all around the world. La Chacarita Cemetery
Cementerio de la Chacarita in Buenos Aires, Argentina, is known as the National Cemetery and is the largest in Argentina. Location The cemetery is in the barrio or district of Chacarita, in the western part of Buenos Aires. Its main entrance is on Avenida Guzmán. History The cemetery owes its existence to a yellow fever epidemic in 1871, when existing cemeteries were strained beyond capacity (the upscale La Recoleta Cemetery refused to allow the burial of victims of the epidemic). Students of the College of San Carlos appropriated in the adjoining Colegiales area for this purpose, but had their facility closed by the city in 1886. The New Chacarita Cemetery began to function in 1887 and was formally designated as such in 1896. Juan Carlos Copes
Juan Carlos Copes (31 May 1931 – 16 January 2021) was an Argentine tango dancer, choreographer, and performer. He started dancing with Maria Nieves when he was 17 and she 14, and the pair later married. Copes and Nieves played a leading role in the renaissance in Tango dancing from the 1970s and, particularly, in Argentine Tango following the 1983 restoration of democracy in that country. Copes was the first to create choreographed tango stage shows and also worked on seven films. Later in his career he partnered with his daughter, Johana, from his second marriage. Roberto Goyeneche (January 29, 1926 in Saavedra, Autonomous City of Buenos Aires – August 27, 1994 in Buenos Aires) was an Argentine tango singer of Basque descent, who epitomized the archetype of 1950s Buenos Aires' bohemian life, and became a living legend in the local music scene. He was known as ''El Polaco'' ("the Pole") due to his blond hair, and thinness, like the Polish immigrants of the time. He is identified with the neighborhood of Saavedra, where he grew up. Career Roberto Goyeneche was formed in the style of the tango of Carlos Gardel, later reached a more personal style characterised by his particular way of phrasing with rubato. María Aurelia Bisutti (June 20, 1930 – April 12, 2010) was an Argentine film and TV actress, with over 50 Argentine cinema and television credits between 1948 and 1993, as well as numerous roles in the theatre. Biography Born in Buenos Aires, she received her first film roles in 1948 through a radio audition hosted by a popular variety show of the time, ''Diario del cine'', and first worked with directors Benito Perojo and Carlos Schlieper. Bisutti earned her first television role in a 1960 documentary on the lives of Paul Gauguin and Edgar Degas. She was given the lead role in Pedro Escudero's '' A puerta cerrada'' (1962), and starred in period piece filmmaker Leopoldo Torre Nilsson's ''Martín Fierro'' (1968).
