José Miguel Rovira
José Miguel Rovira was a Puerto Rican industrialist and co-founder and main driving force behind Rovira Biscuits Corporation during its formative years. Early years Rovira was born in Ponce, Puerto Rico. He was the eldest son of José María Rovira Viza and Mercedes Fernandez. José María Rovira was a Spaniard from Barcelona who had come to Puerto Rico to work as a bookkeeper but eventually established himself as a shopkeeper and who later also purchased a small bread and sweets bakery in 1929 in Ponce. Career In 1937, the young José Miguel Rovira, who had studied chemistry, started working at his father's bakery and worked on changing it into a cracker manufacturing enterprise. During the 1940s, and throughout the Second World War, Rovira improved the company's methods to make it more productive. The Keebler Company is an American cookie and former cracker manufacturer. Founded in 1853, it has produced numerous baked snacks, advertised with the Keebler Elves. Keebler had marketed its brands such as Cheez-It (which have the Sunshine Biscuits brand), Chips Deluxe, Club Crackers, E.L. Fudge Cookies, Famous Amos, Fudge Shoppe Cookies, Murray cookies, Austin, Plantation, Vienna Fingers, Town House Crackers, Wheatables, Sandie's Shortbread, Pizzarias Pizza Chips, Chachos and Zesta Crackers, among others. Tricentennial Park (Ponce, Puerto Rico)
Parque del Tricentenario is a passive urban park in the city of Ponce, Puerto Rico. The park was built to commemorate the 300th anniversary of the founding of the city. It was inaugurated during the mayoral administration of mayor Rafael Cordero Santiago. Location The park is a passive urban family park. It is located in Barrio Tercero (Ponce), Tercero at the entrance to the Ponce Historic Zone on Miguel Pou Boulevard, at the southern terminus of Puerto Rico Highway 1, PR-1. Features The park is a three-plaza park. All three plazas have gardens and marble benches. Setting the stage for the park is ''El Puente de los Leones'' (The Bridge of the Lions).
