José Miguel Barriga Castro
José Miguel Barriga Castro ( Los Andes, Chile, June 14, 1816 – September 3, 1886) was a Chilean lawyer, politician and surveyor. He was the son of Don Juan Agustín Barriga and Margarita Castro. On May 24, 1844, he married Trinidad Espinoza Plaza de los Reyes in Cauquenes. Education He began his studies in his hometown and later moved to Santiago, where he studied at the National Institute. He was admitted to the bar on May 3, 1837. He then began his surveying studies, which concluded in 1839. Professional career José Miguel Barriga Castro served first as a teacher at the National Institute, a position he held until 1842, when he became judge of Cauquenes. His good work made him move up quickly. In 1847 he was appointed Governor of Maule, developing a comprehensive work of social progress. Francisco Vargas Fontecilla
Francisco Antonio Vargas Fontecilla (Santiago of Chile, April 27, 1824 - ibidem, December 10, 1883) was a Chilean lawyer and Liberal politician. Family He was the son of Benito Vargas Prado and Manuela Fontecilla y Rozas. He contracted marriage in July 1858 with Rita Laso Errázuriz, from whose union two daughters were born: Rita and Manuela; and in 1866, in a second marriage with Emilia Solar Valdés, two children: Luis and Casimiro. He studied at the National Institute, where he was sworn in as a lawyer on April 19, 1847 and five years later, in 1852, he entered the Faculty of Humanities in University of Chile. Andrés Bello
Andrés de Jesús María y José Bello López (; November 29, 1781 – October 15, 1865) was a Venezuelan- Chilean humanist, diplomat, poet, legislator, philosopher, educator and philologist, whose political and literary works constitute an important part of Spanish American culture. Bello is featured on the old 2,000 Venezuelan bolívar and the 20,000 Chilean peso notes. In Caracas, where he was born, Andrés Bello was Simón Bolívar's teacher for a short period of time and participated in the process that led to Venezuelan independence. As a diplomat for the new independent government that he helped establish, he went with Luis López Méndez and Simón Bolívar on their first diplomatic mission to London.
