José Manuel Franco
José Manuel Franco Pardo (born 1957) is a Spanish politician. A member of the Spanish Socialist Workers' Party (PSOE), he has been the Secretary-General of the PSOE of the Community of Madrid since September 2017. Since 2021, he is the president of the Consejo Superior de Deportes. Early life Born in A Pobra do Brollón (province of Lugo) on 8 September 1957, soon after his family moved to Monforte de Lemos. Franco, who dropped university studies in Mathematics early, graduated in law. From 1982 to 1987 he worked as math teacher. He is a career civil servant in the Ministry of Defence. Franco, who had joined the Spanish Socialist Workers' Party (PSOE) in 1981, was a member of the Monforte de Lemos city council from 1984 to 1986. The National Sports Council, also called Supreme Sports Council or High Council for Sports ( es, Consejo Superior de Deportes, CSD) is a Spanish government autonomous agency responsible for the promotion, planning and development of physical culture and sports activities of any kind, the coordination and support to social entities dedicated to sports as well as the relations between the Government and the Spanish Olympic Committee. 1999 Madrilenian Regional Election
The 1999 Madrilenian regional election was held on Sunday, 13 June 1999, to elect the 5th Assembly of the Community of Madrid. All 102 seats in the Assembly were up for election. The election was held simultaneously with regional elections in twelve other autonomous communities and local elections all throughout Spain, as well as the 1999 European Parliament election. While the People's Party (PP) of Alberto Ruiz-Gallardón was widely expected to win a second term and expand its absolute majority in the Assembly of Madrid—with opinion polls predicting a comfortable victory with as many as 59 seats—its gains ended up being minimal. The extremely low turnout, one of the lowest in a regional election, benefitted the opposition Spanish Socialist Workers' Party (PSOE) instead, which saw a strong performance as a result at the expense of the United Left (IU), which lost half of its votes and seats. Juan Lobato
Juan Lobato Gandarias (born 5 November 1984) is a Spanish Socialist Workers' Party (PSOE) politician. First elected as a councillor in Soto del Real in 2003, he was the town's mayor from 2015 to 2021. He served in the Assembly of Madrid from 2015 to 2019 and again from 2021, becoming his party's leader in the region. In Spain, apart from the Central Administration, the central government has a Peripheral Administration. This administration is composed of all those decentralized government services, and they are coordinated by the Government Delegations, which are headquartered in the Spanish regions' capitals. Pedro Sánchez (politician)
Pedro Sánchez Pérez-Castejón (; born 29 February 1972) is a Spanish politician who has been Prime Minister of Spain since June 2018. He has also been Secretary-General of the Spanish Socialist Workers' Party (PSOE) since June 2017, having previously held that office from 2014 to 2016. Sánchez began his political career in 2004 as a city councillor in Madrid, before being elected to the Congress of Deputies in 2009. Ángel Gabilondo Pujol (born 1 March 1949) is a Spanish university professor, currently serving as the 6th Ombudsman of Spain. The 2015 Madrilenian regional election was held on Sunday, 24 May 2015, to elect the 10th Assembly of the Community of Madrid. All 129 seats in the Assembly were up for election. The election was held simultaneously with regional elections in twelve other autonomous communities and local elections all throughout Spain. The ruling People's Party (PP) emerged once again as the largest political force in the region, but it saw a substantial drop in its vote support and the loss of the absolute majority it had held almost uninterruptedly since 1995—with a brief interlude in 2003—. The 2011 Madrilenian regional election was held on Sunday, 22 May 2011, to elect the 9th Assembly of the Community of Madrid. All 129 seats in the Assembly were up for election. The election was held simultaneously with regional elections in twelve other autonomous communities and local elections all throughout Spain. The election was won by the People's Party (PP), which had formed the regional government since the 1995 election. Overall, the PP under incumbent President Esperanza Aguirre won 72 seats, although the party's overall vote share decreased. In contrast, the Spanish Socialist Workers' Party (PSOE) under former Mayor of Parla Tomás Gómez had their worst result in terms of votes and seats up until that date.
