Josh Werner
Josh Werner (born September 17, 1974) is an American bassist, producer, composer and songwriter. Life and career Werner grew up in Milwaukee, WI. He works in a variety of styles, most notably reggae, experimental rock, hip hop and jazz. He was a private student of Richard Davis. In 1996, he moved to New York city to attend the New School of Jazz and contemporary music program. Werner has worked with, Lee “Scratch” Perry, Cibo Matto, Robert Glasper, Holly Miranda, Wu Tang Clan, Marc Ribot, Vacationer, Ghostface Killah, Dave Eggar, Vybz Kartel, Jay Rodriguez, The Alchemist, Popcaan, Tunde Adebimpe, CocoRosie, The RZA, Sinkane, Sly and Robbie, Matisyahu, Tim K, and is a frequent collaborator of noted American bassist / producer Bill Laswell. Robert Andre Glasper (born April 6, 1978) is an American pianist, record producer, songwriter, and musical arranger with a career that bridges several different musical and artistic genres, mostly centered on jazz. To date, Glasper has won four Grammy Awards and received nine nominations across eight categories. Glasper's breakout crossover album, ''Black Radio,'' won the 2013 Grammy for best R&B album, and following this success he performed on various successful albums, including playing keyboards on Kendrick Lamar's ''To Pimp a Butterfly'' and winning another Grammy for the track “ These Walls”. Sly And Robbie
Sly and Robbie were a prolific Jamaican rhythm section and production duo, associated primarily with the reggae and dub genres. Drummer Sly Dunbar and bassist Robbie Shakespeare teamed up in the mid-1970s after establishing themselves separately in Jamaica as professional musicians. Shakespeare died in December 2021 following kidney surgery. Sinkane (born Ahmed Abdullahi Gallab in London, England) is a Sudanese-American musician who blends krautrock, prog rock, electronica, free jazz and funk rock with Sudanese pop. Babatunde Omoroga Adebimpe (born February 26, 1975) is an American musician, singer-songwriter, actor, director, and visual artist best known as the lead singer of the Brooklyn-based band TV on the Radio. Early life Adebimpe was born into a Nigerian immigrant family in the United States. Babatunde is a Yoruba name that means "father has returned". Andrae Hugh Sutherland (born 19 July 1988), known professionally as Popcaan, is a Jamaican singer. In 2008, Popcaan joined Vybz Kartel's Gaza Music Empire. Vacationer is an American electropop and dream pop band based in Philadelphia, Pennsylvania, United States. It is composed of Kenny Vasoli (lead singer/bass), Ryan Zimmaro (drums), Michael Mullin (keyboards/backing vocals), Greg Altman (guitar/backing vocals).
