Rastatt () is a town with a Baroque core, District of Rastatt, Baden-Württemberg, Germany. It is located in the Upper Rhine Plain on the Murg river, above its junction with the Rhine and has a population of around 50,000 (2011). Rastatt was an important place of the War of the Spanish Succession (Treaty of Rastatt) and the Revolutions of 1848 in the German states. History Until the end of the 17th century, Rastatt held little influence, but after its destruction by the French in 1689, it was rebuilt on a larger scale by Louis William, Margrave of Baden, the Imperial General in the Great Turkish War known popularly as ''Türkenlouis''. It then remained the residence of the Margraves of Baden-Baden until 1771. It was the location of the First and Second Congress of Rastatt, the former giving rise to the Treaty of Rastatt while the second ended in failure in 1799. Analena Jentsch (born 28 May 1997) is a retired German curler from Füssen. She formerly played lead on the German National Women's Curling Team skipped by her sister Daniela Jentsch. Career When she was just 17, Jentsch participated in her first World Women's Curling Championship at the 2015 World Women's Curling Championship. Her team of her sister Daniela Jentsch at skip, Stella Heiß at second and Pia-Lisa Schöll at lead beat top teams Sweden and United States before losing their last five games to finish with a record of 4–7. Jentsch played in her first European Curling Championships the following season at the 2015 European Curling Championships as third for the German team. The team missed the playoffs with a 4–5 record but did qualify their country for the 2016 World Championship. Franziska Fischer (born 2 August 1968) is a German journalist, TV presenter and author. Early life Franziska Fischer was born in 1968 in Göttingen. She studied theatrical studies and journalism in Frankfurt and Berlin and completed several internships at newspaper offices and television stations. Career When SFB (now Rundfunk Berlin-Brandenburg) she began as a reporter for the Radio Berlin 88,8 and the Berliner Abendschau. She then moved into the newsroom of Deutsche Welle (DW), where she got her first moderation experience. In 2002 she became a correspondent for three years to Brussels in the European Centre of Deutsche Welle, where she reported on the enlargement of the EU and also moderated the magazine ''Europa Aktuell''.
