Jorrit Croon
Jorrit Croon (; born 9 August 1998) is a Dutch field hockey player who plays as a midfielder or forward for HC Bloemendaal, Bloemendaal and the Netherlands men's national field hockey team, Dutch national team. Club career Croon started playing hockey at LSC Alecto. Since 2014 he has played for the first team of HGC (field hockey), HGC, he made his debut at 16 years old. In 2016 Croon and his team finished third in the Hoofdklasse but were eliminated in the playoffs to win the national championship. After 3 seasons with HGC, he transferred in the summer of 2018 to HC Bloemendaal, Bloemendaal. In his first season with Bloemendaal, he won his first Men's Hoofdklasse Hockey, Dutch national title by defeating SV Kampong, Kampong in the championship final. Leiderdorp () is a town and municipality in the western Netherlands, in the province of South Holland near the city of Leiden. It had a population of in . The men's field hockey tournament at the 2016 Summer Olympics was the 23rd edition of the field hockey event for men at the Summer Olympics. It took place over a thirteen-day period beginning on 6 August, and culminated with the medal finals on 18 August. All games were played at the Olympic Hockey Centre in Deodoro, Rio de Janeiro, Brazil. Argentina won the gold medal for the first time after defeating Belgium 4–2 in the final. Defending champions Germany won the bronze medal by defeating the Netherlands 4–3 on a penalty shoot-out after a 1–1 draw. 2021 Euro Hockey League
The 2021 Euro Hockey League was the 14th season of the Euro Hockey League, Europe's premier club field hockey tournament, organized by the European Hockey Federation. Due to the COVID-19 pandemic in Europe a different format was used with only one event and 16 less teams. The four participating teams were the four original seeded clubs for the original format. The semi-finals were played on 3 April and the final on 5 April 2021 at the Wagener Stadium in Amstelveen, Netherlands. Bloemendaal won a record fourth title after defeating first time finalists Atlètic Terrassa 5–2 in the final. Léopold won their first medal after defeating Uhlenhorst Mülheim 4–2 in the bronze medal match. Euro Hockey League
The Euro Hockey League is an annual men's field hockey cup competition organized by the EHF for the very top field hockey clubs in Europe. The competition was launched at the start of the 2007-08 field hockey season when it merged and replaced the men's EuroHockey Club Champions Cup (the champions competition) and the EuroHockey Cup Winners Cup (the Cup Winners' competition). Featuring many of the world's best players, the EHL is now seen as the pinnacle of club hockey in Europe (hockey's equivalent of the UEFA Champions League) with top clubs from across the continent playing what many consider to be the most exciting and dynamic club hockey in the world. The 2020–21 Men's Hoofdklasse Hockey, also known as the Tulp Hoofdklasse Men for sponsorship reasons, was the 48th season of the Men's Hoofdklasse Hockey, the top Dutch field hockey league. The season began on 6 September 2020 and was suspended for at least four weeks on 13 October 2020 due to the COVID-19 pandemic in the Netherlands. The season resumed on 31 January 2021. It concluded with the third match of the championship final on 16 May 2021. On 23 April 2021 it was announced that the relegation play-offs would not be played because the second division's season could not be finished due to the pandemic.
