Joris Luyendijk (; born 30 December 1971) is a Dutch non-fiction author, anthropologist, news correspondent, and TV interviewer. Biography Joris Luyendijk was born on 30 December 1971 in Amsterdam in the Netherlands. He lived in Hilversum from the age of five. Luyendijk studied in Kansas, Amsterdam, and Cairo. He earned his Master's degree equivalent "doctoraal" degree in Cairo. His first book ''Een goede man slaat soms zijn vrouw'' (1998, ''A Good Man Sometimes Beats His Wife'') is about the Egyptian society from a Western observer's point of view. Joris Van Hout (born 10 January 1977) is a Belgian former professional footballer who played as a forward. Career Playing for Borussia Mönchengladbach van Hout scored 11 goals in 69 Bundesliga appearances. In summer 2005, he left Mönchengladbach for an undisclosed fee to join VfL Bochum on a three-year contract. Joris Vanvinckenroye (born 1977), also known by his solo moniker BASta!, is a Flemish avant-rock and experimental double bass musician and composer. He is best known for Aranis, a neo-classical chamber rock group he founded and leads, and for his double bass solo project, BASta!. Vanvinckenroye has performed in Europe and the United States, and recorded seven albums with Aranis. Joris Vanspringel (born 8 February 1963 in Turnhout, Belgium) is a Belgian Olympic eventing rider. Representing Belgium, he competed at four Summer Olympics (in 2004, 2008, 2012 and 2016). Joris Jacques Kees Putman (born 24 July 1984 at Noordwijk in the Netherlands) is a Dutch actor. Career Joris' mother is a non-western sociologist and his father is a documentary film-maker.
