Jorge Cori
Jorge Moisés Cori Tello (, born 30 July 1995) is a Peruvian chess grandmaster. A former chess prodigy, he was twice world champion and four-time Pan American champion in his age category. Cori competed in the FIDE World Cup in 2011, 2013, 2017, 2019 and 2021. He has played for the Peruvian team in the Chess Olympiad since 2010. Career Cori finished joint first in the under 10 section of the Pan American Youth Chess Festival in 2004 and as a result he was awarded the title of FIDE Master. Following this, he won the gold medal at the Pan American Youth Chess Festival in various age categories: under 10 (2005), under 12 (2006), under 14 (2008) and under 18 (2009). Cori also won the gold medal at the World Youth Chess Championships in the under 14 category in 2009 and the under 16 in 2011. Balaguer
Balaguer () is the capital of the ''comarca'' of Noguera, in the province of Lleida, Catalonia, Spain. It is located by the river Segre, a tributary to the Ebre. The municipality includes an exclave to the east. Balaguer also has a sister city in the western United States, Pacifica, California. Balaguer was conquered from the Moors by Ermengol VI of Urgell in 1106; he made it his new capital, and it remained so for subsequent counts of Urgell. The town has a Gothic bridge, the "Pont de Sant Miquel", over the Segre river. This bridge was destroyed during the Spanish Civil War in the battle of "Cap de Pont" (bridgehead battle in 1938) and rebuilt after the war. The Chess World Cup 2015 was a 128-player single-elimination tournament, single-elimination chess tournament held in Baku, Azerbaijan, from 10 September to 5 October 2015. Sergey Karjakin won the competition on tie-breaks after a four-game final against Peter Svidler. Axel Bachmann
Axel Bachmann Schiavo (born 4 November 1989) is a Paraguayan chess player who holds the Grandmaster title. Biography Bachmann went to study to the University of Texas at Brownsville on a chess scholarship due to a recommendation by Peruvian grandmaster Daniel Fernandez. There, Bachmann was a teammate and training partner of Chilean grandmaster Mauricio Flores Ríos. Bachmann won the 5th Iberoamerican Chess Championship held in Linares, Jaén, Spain in 2014. Vicente López is a partido in the Buenos Aires metropolitan area, Buenos Aires Province, Argentina. It is one of the country´s most affluent municipalities. World Junior Chess Championship
The World Junior Chess Championship is an under-20 chess tournament (players must have been under 20 years old on 1 January in the year of competition) organized by the World Chess Federation (FIDE). The idea was the brainchild of William Ritson-Morry, who organized the 1951 inaugural event to take place in Birmingham, England. Subsequently, it was held every two years until 1973, when an annual schedule was adopted. In 1983, a separate tournament for girls was established. Each FIDE member nation may select one entrant except for the host nation, which may select two. Some players are seeded into the tournament based on Elo rating and top finishes in previous championships. The first championship was an 11-round Swiss system tournament. In subsequent championships, the entrants were divided into sections, and preliminary sectional tournaments were used to establish graded finals sections (Final A, Final B, etc.). Baskaran Adhiban
Adhiban Baskaran (born 15 August 1992) is an Indian chess Grandmaster (GM). He was the 2008 World Under-16 Champion and the 2009 Indian champion. He is currently the seventh highest rated player in India. He is widely known as the Beast due to his hyper-aggressive style of play. Career In 2007 he won the Asian under-16 championship in Tashkent. Adhiban played on the first board for the gold medal-winning Indian team at the Under-16 Chess Olympiad of 2007 and 2008. In 2011, he won the Cultural Village tournament in Wijk aan Zee which qualified him for the 2012 Tata Steel C tournament. In this latter event, he tied for 3rd–4th with Daan Brandenburg with a score of 8.5/13.
