Jordon Southorn
Jordon Southorn (born May 15, 1990) is a Canadian professional ice hockey defenceman. He is currently playing for Augsburger Panther of the Deutsche Eishockey Liga. He was selected by the Buffalo Sabres in the fourth round (104th overall) of the 2008 NHL Entry Draft. Playing career Southorn played four seasons (2006–2010) of major junior hockey in the Quebec Major Junior Hockey League with the Prince Edward Island Rocket. Unsigned from the Sabres, on September 4, 2012, the Elmira Jackals of the ECHL signed Southorn for the 2012–13 season. After a short stint in the Elite Ice Hockey League with the Dundee Stars, Southorn returned to the ECHL with the Fort Wayne Komets in the 2013–14 season. Having played a single game on loan with the Pirates in the season prior, on July 31, 2014, Southorn signed a one-year AHL contract with the Portland Pirates. Defenceman
Defence or defense (in American English) in ice hockey is a player position that is primarily responsible for preventing the opposing team from Goal (ice hockey), scoring. They are often referred to as defencemen, D, D-men or blueliners (the latter a reference to the blue line in ice hockey which represents the boundary of the offensive zone; defencemen generally position themselves along the line to keep the puck in the zone). Gwinnett Gladiators
The Atlanta Gladiators are a professional minor league ice hockey team based in Duluth, Georgia. The Gladiators play in the South Division of the ECHL's Eastern Conference. They play their home games at Gas South Arena, approximately northeast of Atlanta. The franchise originated as the Mobile Mysticks in 1995. They suspended operations in 2002 and moved to Duluth in 2003 where they were originally known as the Gwinnett Gladiators. In 2015, they changed their name to the Atlanta Gladiators. Fort Wayne Komets
The Fort Wayne Komets are a minor league ice hockey team in the ECHL. They play their home games at the Allen County War Memorial Coliseum in Fort Wayne, Indiana. This team was previously a member of the Central Hockey League, the original International Hockey League, and the second International Hockey League. The Dundee Stars are a professional ice hockey team based in the Scottish city of Dundee. The Elite Ice Hockey League (EIHL), sometimes referred to as the British Elite League or, for sponsorship reasons, the Viaplay Elite League, is an ice hockey league in the United Kingdom. ECHL
The ECHL (formerly the East Coast Hockey League) is a mid-level professional ice hockey league based in Shrewsbury, New Jersey, with teams scattered across the United States and Canada. It is a tier below the American Hockey League (AHL). Elmira Jackals
The Elmira Jackals were a professional minor league ice hockey team based in Elmira, New York. They were members of the United Hockey League from 2000 to 2007 and the ECHL from 2007 to 2017. The Jackals played their home games at First Arena.
