Jordi Camí
Jordi Camí (Terrassa, 1952) is Professor of Pharmacology (specialist in Clinical Pharmacology) at Pompeu Fabra University, General Director of the Barcelona Biomedical Research Park (PRBB), and vice president of the Pasqual Maragall Foundation. He has been the promoter and first director of the Pasqual Maragall Foundation between 2008 and 2020. His scientific activity has been focused on the field of Neurosciences (drug dependence, cognition), having explored other fields such as Bibliometry, Evaluation and Scientific Policy. His academic activity has been carried out between the Autonomous University of Barcelona (UAB) and the Pompeu Fabra University (UPF), having held the positions of Delegate of the Rector, Dean and Director of the department. Terrassa
Terrassa (, es, Tarrasa) is a city in the east central region of Catalonia, Spain, in the province of Barcelona, ''comarca'' of Vallès Occidental, of which it is the co-capital along with Sabadell. The name ''Terrassa'' derives from Latin ''Terracia'', either from earlier ''Terracium castellum'' (“earthen castle”), or meaning "terrace", "area of flat land". Barcelona Biomedical Research Park
The Barcelona Biomedical Research Park ("PRBB") is an agglomeration of six public research centres and is located alongside the Hospital del Mar de Barcelona. The PRBB is the product of an initiative launched by the Government of Catalonia, the City Council of Barcelona and the Pompeu Fabra University (UPF), which aims to promote research and collaboration between closely related fields. Each centre works independently in its own field and a management group, the PRBB Consortium, is responsible for managing the building and facilities, in addition to coordinating joint scientific research activities among the various centres. About 1,400 people are employed in the PRBB, making it one of the largest biomedical research clusters in the south of Europe. The centre was opened in May 2006. Pasqual Maragall Foundation
The Pasqual Maragall Foundation is a private, non-profit foundation dedicated to scientific research of Alzheimer's disease. It was founded in April 2008 in Barcelona as a result of the public commitment of Pasqual Maragall, former Mayor of Barcelona and former President of the Generalitat de Catalunya, who had been diagnosed with this neurodegenerative disease in 2007.
