Jordan Thompson (cricketer)
Jordan Aaron Thompson (born 9 October 1996) is an English cricketer. He made his Twenty20 debut for Yorkshire in the 2018 T20 Blast on 15 July 2018. He made his List A debut on 6 May 2019, for Yorkshire in the 2019 Royal London One-Day Cup. Thompson made his first-class debut on 10 June 2019, for Yorkshire in the 2019 County Championship match at Guildford against Surrey. 2019 Royal London One-Day Cup
The 2019 Royal London One-Day Cup tournament was a limited overs cricket competition that formed part of the 2019 domestic cricket season in England and Wales. The tournament was won by Somerset, their first win in the tournament since 2001. Matches were contested over 50 overs per side and had List A cricket status. All eighteen first-class counties competed in the tournament, which due to the 2019 Cricket World Cup being hosted in England took place at the beginning of the English cricket season starting on 17 April 2019, with the final taking place just over a month later at Lord's on 25 May 2019. Cricket is a bat-and-ball game played between two teams of eleven players on a field at the centre of which is a pitch with a wicket at each end, each comprising two bails balanced on three stumps. The Hundred (cricket)
The Hundred is a professional franchise 100-ball cricket tournament involving eight men's and eight women's teams located in major cities across England and Wales. The tournament is run by the England and Wales Cricket Board (ECB) and took place for the first time in July and August 2021. The format was invented with the expectation that each match lasts around two-and-a-half hours. The BBC showed free-to-air broadcasts of the competition, while all of the women's matches and some of the men's matches were available to stream for free on Sky Sports' YouTube channel. The 2022 season of The Hundred will be the second season of The Hundred, a professional franchise 100-ball cricket tournament involving eight men's and women's teams located in major cities across England and Wales. The competition will return after its first season, which was impacted by the COVID-19 pandemic and faced strong opposition from traditional cricket fans. Despite this more than 500,000 tickets were sold for the first year of the competition and the contest was seen as a major boost for the women's game. The Sports Ground, Woodbridge Road is a cricket ground in Guildford, Surrey. The ground was given to the town in trust in 1911 by Harry Waechter, Sir Harry Waechter, Bart. Guildford Cricket Club play their home matches on the ground. Surrey County Cricket Club usually play at least one County Championship match there each season, as well as some second XI and Surrey Stars fixtures. Until comparatively recently, field hockey, hockey was played on the ground in winter. The ground was also used for Association football, football until at least 1921. It was the home ground of the Amateur sports, amateur team Guildford F.C. who existed until 1953 (not to be confused with the Professional sports, professional Guildford City team who played at Josephs Road) and was also used as the venue for some Surrey Senior Cup finals.
