Jordan Larson
Jordan Quinn Larson (born October 16, 1986) is an American volleyball player and a three-time Olympic medalist. Larson won gold with the national team at the 2014 World Championship, the Rimini Volleyball Nations League, and the 2020 Tokyo Summer Olympics, silver at the 2012 London Summer Olympics, and bronze at the 2016 Rio Olympic Games. Her 2020 Olympics win allowed her to complete the trifecta of winning an Olympic bronze, silver, and gold medal. Career High school Larson was born in Fremont, Nebraska and played high school volleyball for Logan View High School in Hooper, Nebraska. She was named to the Super-State first team in her last three seasons. In 2003, she had 15.08 kills per game to set a Class C1 state record and led LVHS to the state finals. In 2004, as a senior, she set a C1 record with 501 kills, and Logan View made it to the Class C1 state semifinals. She was named Nebraska Gatorade High School Player of the Year. Volleyball At The 2016 Summer Olympics – Women's Tournament
The women's tournament in volleyball at the 2016 Summer Olympics was the 14th edition of the event at an Olympic Games, organised by the world's governing body, the FIVB, in conjunction with the IOC. It was held in Rio de Janeiro, Brazil from 6 to 20 August 2016. China won their third gold by defeating Serbia in the final. The United States won bronze by winning against the Netherlands. The 2013 FIVB Women's World Grand Champions Cup was held in Nagoya and Tokyo, Japan from November 12 to 17, 2013. Brazil won their second title and Brazilian Fabiana Claudino was selected the Most Valuable Player. Volleyball World Grand Champions Cup
The FIVB Volleyball World Grand Champions Cup is an international volleyball competition contested by the senior men's and women's national teams of the members of ' (FIVB), the sport's global governing body. The tournament was created in 1993 after radical changes made on the biggest tournaments organised by the FIVB. The main goal was not to have a single year without two high-profile world-level volleyball competitions, alongside the pre-existing men's and women's world championship, men's and women's world cup and the volleyball tournament at the Olympic Games which are all quadrennial and the annual men's and women's Nations League. The World Grand Champions Cup is therefore played quadrennially the year after the Olympic Games and is always hosted by the Japan Volleyball Association. The 2015 FIVB Women's World Cup was held from August 22 to September 6 in Japan. The tournament was a qualification process for the 2016 Summer Olympics in Rio de Janeiro, Brazil. The top two ranked teams, China and Serbia, qualified for the Olympics, and joined Brazil as they had already secured a berth as the host country. The 2019 FIVB Women's World Cup was the 13th edition of the event, contested by the senior women's national teams of the members of the ' (FIVB), the sport's global governing body. The tournament was held from 14 to 29 September 2019 in Japan. This was the first time that the FIVB did not distribute Olympics places since 1991 due to Japan hosting the 2020 Summer Olympics, but points for the FIVB World Rankings were given. China won their historic fifth title, following titles from 1981, 1985, 2003, and 2015. China surpassed Cuba's earlier record of four titles in the history of the competition. Defending their title as the reigning champions in 2015, China reigned to sweep all eleven matches in Yokohama, Sapporo and Osaka. The 2011 FIVB Women's World Cup was played from 4 to 18 November 2011 in Japan. The tournament was the first step in the qualification process for the 2012 Summer Olympics in London, United Kingdom. FIVB Volleyball Women's World Cup
The FIVB Volleyball Women's World Cup is an international volleyball competition contested by the senior women's national teams of the members of ' (FIVB), the sport's global governing body. Initially the tournament was played in the year following the Olympic Games, but since 1991 the World Cup has been awarded in the year preceding the Olympic Games. The current champion is China, which won its fifth title at the 2019 tournament. The current format of the competition involves 12 teams, including the automatically qualifying host nation Japan, competing in the tournament phase for the title at venues within the host nation over a period of about two weeks.
