Joram Macdonald Gumbo is a Zimbabwean politician, member of parliament, former member of the Pan-African Parliament from Zimbabwe, and former cabinet minister. Pan-African Parliament
The Pan-African Parliament (PAP), also known as the African Parliament, is the legislative body of the African Union. It held its inaugural session in March 2004. The Parliament exercises oversight, and has advisory and consultative powers, having lasting for the first five years. Initially the seat of the Pan-African Parliament was in Addis Ababa, Ethiopia, but was later moved to Midrand, Johannesburg, South Africa. The goal in establishing the parliament was creating a space where people from all states of Africa could meet, deliberate, and pass some policy on issues that affect the entire continent of Africa. The Parliament is composed of five members per member state that have ratified the Protocol establishing it, including at least one woman per Member State. Zimbabwe (), officially the Republic of Zimbabwe, is a landlocked country located in Southeast Africa, between the Zambezi and Limpopo Rivers, bordered by South Africa to the south, Botswana to the south-west, Zambia to the north, and Mozambique to the east. The Parliament of Zimbabwe is the Bicameralism, bicameral legislature of Zimbabwe composed of the Senate of Zimbabwe, Senate and the National Assembly of Zimbabwe, National Assembly. The Senate is the upper house, and consists of 80 members, 60 of whom are elected by proportional representation from ten Multimember district, six-member constituencies corresponding to the country's Provinces of Zimbabwe, provinces. Of the remaining 20 seats, 18 are reserved for Tribal chief, chiefs, and two for people with disabilities. The National Assembly is the lower house, and consists of 270 members. Obert Mpofu
Obert Moses Mpofu is a Zimbabwean politician, who served as Minister of Home Affairs from 2017 to September 2018. Previously he was Minister of Macro-Economic Planning and Investment Promotion; Minister of Industry and International Trade; Minister of Mines and Mining Development; and Minister of Transport and Infrastructure Development. The Cabinet of Zimbabwe was later dissolved on 27 November 2017. He was reappointed as Minister of Home Affairs in Mnangagwa's first cabinet on 30 November 2017. The Culture portfolio was added to his ministry. Mpofu was later removed from the Zimbabwe cabinet in September 2018. Zimbabwe Anti-Corruption Commission
Corruption in Zimbabwe has become endemic within its political, private and civil sectors. Zimbabwe, along with Honduras, Iraq, and Cambodia, ranks 157th out of 180 countries in the 2021 Transparency International Corruption Perceptions Index, where a high ranking corresponds to a perception of high corruption in the public sector. On a scale of 0 (highly corrupt) to 100 (very clean), the Corruption Perceptions Index gave Zimbabwe a score of 23. This marks an decrease in corruption since 2012, when the country was given a score of 20. Corruption in the public sector The findings of a 2000 survey commissioned by Transparency International Zimbabwe found that Zimbabwean citizens regarded the public sector as the most corrupt sector in the country.
