Morehouse Parish is a parish located in the U.S. state of Louisiana. As of the 2010 census, the population was 27,979. The parish seat is Bastrop. The parish was formed in 1844. Morehouse Parish comprises the Bastrop, LA Micropolitan Statistical Area, which is included in the Monroe– Ruston–Bastrop, LA Combined Statistical Area. History Bonita was founded in the early 1890s when the railroad was extended to that point. A post office has been in operation in Bonita since 1890.
