Jonathan Hunt (New Zealand Politician)
Jonathan Lucas Hunt (born 2 December 1938) is a New Zealand politician, and was New Zealand's High Commissioner to the United Kingdom from 2005 to March 2008. He formerly served as Speaker of the New Zealand House of Representatives. He is a member of the Labour Party, and was until his retirement in 2005 the longest-serving MP in Parliament. Hunt is a member of the Order of New Zealand, New Zealand's highest civilian honour. Hunt was given the nickname the "Minister for Wine and Cheese" after his well-known liking of the combo. Early life Hunt was born in Lower Hutt, but grew up in Palmerston North. He had a twin brother, David, who died four days after they were born. Hunt's father was a child welfare officer, reassigned to the Manawatu in 1942. Jonathan Hunt (August 12, 1787May 15, 1832) was an American lawyer and politician from Vermont. He was a member of the United States House of Representatives for the state of Vermont and was a member of the prominent Hunt family of Vermont. Early life Born in Vernon in the Vermont Republic, Hunt graduated from Dartmouth College, Hanover, New Hampshire, in 1807. Afterwards, Hunt studied law and was admitted to the bar in 1812. Hunt commenced practice in Brattleboro, Vermont in 1812. He was the first president of the Old Brattleboro Bank in 1821, the first bank established in Brattleboro, a position he held for years afterward. He also carried the rank of General in the Vermont militia, as had his uncle Arad Hunt. Political career Hunt held many political positions in Vermont, and served as a member of the Vermont House of Representatives in 1811, 1816, 1817, and 1824. Jonathan Hunt (September 12, 1738 – June 1, 1823) was an American pioneer, landowner and politician from Vernon, Vermont. He served as second lieutenant governor of Vermont and was a member of the prominent Hunt family of Vermont. Early life Hunt was born in Northfield, Massachusetts, the son of Captain Samuel Strong Hunt of Northampton and Ann (Ellsworth) Hunt of Windsor, Connecticut. He was one of the earliest settlers of Vermont, and he began clearing land at Guilford, Vermont in 1758. There are indications that the Hunt family had ties to Vermont even earlier, when Hunt's grandfather Jonathan witnessed a 1687 Massachusetts deed conferring land in what was later Vermont by several Native Americans. Hunt's father, Captain Samuel, had himself been the proprietor named in the charter of many New Hampshire towns. Jonathan Richard Hunt (born 2 November 1971) is an English footballer who plays for Enfield Town. He made more than 200 appearances in the Football League for a variety of clubs and played in the Premier League for Derby County. Football career Born in Camden, London, Hunt was a striker in youth football before converting to midfield, and developed into a skilful right-sided midfielder. He played under manager Barry Fry at Barnet, winning promotion to Division Two in his first full season, and Southend United before following Fry to Birmingham City in September 1994 for a fee of £500,000. Dead to Fall is an American metalcore band from Gurnee, Illinois. Formed in 1999, it drew influences from Gothenburg metal, death metal, and other genres. Their first two albums reached combined sales of 60,000 copies in the US alone. Dead to Fall broke up on April 6, 2008 due to financial and personal problems. In 2015, The band did a small reunion tour with the remaining previous members of the band. The tour was supporting Darkest Hour for the tenth anniversary of their album ''Undoing Ruin''. Jonathan Hunt (born 6 August 1986), known professionally as Joth Hunt, is an Australian Pentecostal Protestantism, Christian worship leader, singer-songwriter, producer and music director who primarily writes Contemporary Christian music, praise and worship songs.
