Jonathan Emmett
Jonathan Emmett (born 10 December 1965) is a British children's author and pop-up book designer. He is best known for his picture books including ''Bringing Down the Moon'', ''Someone Bigger'' and ''The Princess and the Pig''. His books have won several awards including the Red House Children's Book Award for ''Pigs Might Fly'' and the Sheffield Children's Book Award for ''The Pig's Knickers''. Emmett has also written and paper-engineered several pop-up books including, ''Emergency Rescue'' and ''Tyrannosaurus Rocks''. Life Jonathan Emmett was born in Leicestershire in 1965. Best known as a picture book author, his writing is inspired and influenced by the picture books he read as a child including ''Where the Wild Things Are'' by Maurice Sendak and ''The Cat in the Hat'' by Dr. Seuss. The California Young Reader Medal is a set of five annual literary awards conferred upon picture books and fiction books selected by vote of California schoolchildren from a ballot prepared by committee. The program was established in 1974 with Intermediate, Primary, and Young Adult Medals that were inaugurated in 1975, 1976, and 1977 and were conferred biennially, and annually beginning in 1983. The Cybils Awards, or Children's and Young Adult Bloggers' Literary Awards, are a set of annual book awards given by people who blog about children's and young-adult books. The Hampshire Book Awards are an annual series of literary awards given to works of children's literature. The awards are run by Hampshire County Council's School Library Service. There are three awards: Hampshire Book Award, Hampshire Illustrated Book Award and Hampshire Picture Book Award. A fourth award, the Hampshire Information Book Award, is being piloted in 2013.
