Jonathan Chan
Jonathan Chan Fan Keng ( zh, 曾繁铿; born 10 May 1997) is a Singaporean former diver. He competed in the 2020 Summer Olympics after his qualification through a victory in the 2019 Asian Diving Cup in Kuala Lumpur, Malaysia on 8 September 2019. He is the first Singaporean diver to have qualified for the Olympic Games. Due to his Olympic qualification, Chan was nominated for the Straits Times Athlete of the Year award in 2020. Diving career Chan has been doing gymnastics since five years old and has cited local gymnast Hoe Wah Toon as his inspiration. He switched over to diving, following after his older sister, Kimberly Chan, who was scouted as a prospective diver, since there was only a year left to train in the lead up to the 2010 Summer Youth Olympics that was held in Singapore. Chan started diving competitively since 2013. In 2019, Chan won the Men's 10m Platform final at the Asian Diving Cup in Kuala Lumpur, Malaysia and became the first Singaporean diver to qualify ...

Anglo-Chinese School (Independent) (ACS(I)) is an independent Methodist secondary school in Dover, Singapore. Founded in 1886 by Reverend William Fitzjames Oldham, it was recognised as an International Baccalaureate World School in 2005, and has since consistently ranked among the top three schools worldwide that offer the IB Diploma Programme. Keeping in line with its history as a boys' school, ACS(I) provides secondary education for only boys from Years 1 to 4. Diving at the 2014 Summer Youth Olympics was held from 23 to 27 August at the Nanjing Olympic Sports Centre in Nanjing, China. Qualification Each National Olympic Committee (NOC) could gain a maximum of 4 quotas, 1 per each event and enter 2 athletes, 1 in each gender. As hosts, China was given the maximum quota. 8 athletes, 2 in each event was decided by the Tripartite Commission, but none were given thus the spots were reallocated to the next best athletes not yet qualified. The remaining 36 places were decided in a single qualifying event held in 2014.
