Jonas Persson (swimmer)
Jonas Lars Persson (born 15 December 1983 in Malmö, Sweden) is an Olympic swimmer from Sweden. He swam for his homeland at the 2008 Olympics. Biography Persson was born 15 December 1983 in Slottstaden in Malmö, to Lars and Ingegerd Persson. In 2002, Jonas Persson won his first individual title in the Swedish Swimming Championships, on 200 m freestyle, after having won a silver in the Swedish Short Course Swimming Championships earlier the same year. Persson swam and attended school at the USA's University of Arizona for two years (2004–06), and more recently was at the University of Tennessee (2006–09), where he majored in Marketing and International Business. At the 2008 European Championships, he swam the anchor leg of Sweden's winning 4×100 m freestyle relay; also on the relay were Marcus Piehl, Stefan Nystrand and Petter Stymne. Freestyle Swimming
Freestyle is a category of swimming competition, defined by the rules of the International Swimming Federation (FINA), in which competitors are subject to a few limited restrictions on their swimming stroke. Freestyle races are the most common of all swimming competitions, with distances beginning with 50 meters (50 yards) and reaching 1500 meters (1650 yards), also known as the mile. The term 'freestyle stroke' is sometimes used as a synonym for 'front crawl', as front crawl is the fastest surface swimming stroke. It is now the most common stroke used in freestyle competitions. Petter Stymne (born 9 May 1983 in Ryd, Sweden) is a Swedish swimmer from Skövde, representing SK Neptun from Stockholm. He competed for his native country at the 2004 Summer Olympics in Athens, Greece. Stymne became gold medalist and world record holder in the 4×50 meters freestyle together with Stefan Nystrand, Marcus Piehl and Jonas Tilly with the time of 1:24.89 on 10 December 2006 at the European Short Course Swimming Championships in Helsinki, Finland. 2009 World Aquatics Championships
The 2009 World Aquatics Championships ( it, Campionati mondiali di nuoto 2009) or the XIII FINA World Championships were held in Rome, Italy from 18 July to 2 August 2009. The 2009 Championships featured competition in all 5 aquatics disciplines: diving, swimming, open water swimming, synchronised swimming and water polo. Biography Jonas Andersson was born on 2 June 1984 in Stockholm, to Ewa and Jan Andersson. He competed at the 2001 Nordic Junior Championships in Fredrikshavn, where he finished third in the 200 m breaststroke. At the 2002 European Junior Swimming Championships in Linz, he finished 12th in the 200 m breaststroke. Jonas Andersson attended Södra Latins gymnasium in Stockholm and studied Economics at Stockholm School of Economics.
