Jonas Andersson (swimmer)
Jonas Carl Andersson (born 2 June 1984) is a Swedish swimmer from Stockholm, representing SK Neptun from Stockholm. Biography Jonas Andersson was born on 2 June 1984 in Stockholm, to Ewa and Jan Andersson. He competed at the 2001 Nordic Junior Championships in Fredrikshavn, where he finished third in the 200 m breaststroke. At the 2002 European Junior Swimming Championships in Linz, he finished 12th in the 200 m breaststroke. Jonas Andersson attended Södra Latins gymnasium in Stockholm and studied Economics at Stockholm School of Economics. He graduated with a Bachelor's degree in Economics at the University of Nevada, Las Vegas. He has returned to the Stockholm School of Economics to finish his master's degree. At the University of Nevada, Las Vegas, he competed with the UNLV Rebels. Swimming (sport)
Swimming is an individual or team racing sport that requires the use of one's entire body to move through water. The sport takes place in pools or open water (e.g., in a sea or lake). Competitive swimming is one of the most popular Olympic sports, with varied distance events in butterfly, backstroke, breaststroke, freestyle, and individual medley. In addition to these individual events, four swimmers can take part in either a freestyle or medley relay. A medley relay consists of four swimmers who will each swim a different stroke, ordered as backstroke, breaststroke, butterfly and freestyle. Swimming each stroke requires a set of specific techniques; in competition, there are distinct regulations concerning the acceptable form for each individual stroke. There are also regulations on what types of swimsuits, caps, jewelry and injury tape that are allowed at competitions. UNLV Rebels
The UNLV Rebels are the intercollegiate athletics teams that represent the University of Nevada, Las Vegas (UNLV). The Rebels compete in the NCAA Division I (Football Bowl Subdivision for college football) as a member of the Mountain West Conference. The school's colors are scarlet and gray. It was founded in 1958 for basketball in Paradise, Nevada. It did not have a nickname for Nevada Southern at the time from 1958 to 1968. Some of the Rebels teams use variations of the team name for their individual sport, such as the Runnin' Rebels for men's basketball and the Hustlin' Rebels for the baseball team. The Swedish Swimming Championships () are held annually in the Swedish summer in outdoor 50 m pool. The championships sometimes also works as trials for the Summer Olympics, World Championships and European Championships. Swimmers representing Swedish swim teams may participate. The Mountain West Conference (MW) is one of the collegiate athletic conferences affiliated with the National Collegiate Athletic Association (NCAA) Division I Football Bowl Subdivision (FBS) (formerly I-A). The MW officially began operations on January 4, 1999.
