Jon Wolfert
Jon Wolfert (born May 10, 1952 as Jonathan Wolfert) is President of JAM Creative Productions Inc. and their predecessor, PAMS, both of which are Dallas, Texas-based jingle companies supplying jingles and production music to radio and TV stations worldwide. Career Jonathan Wolfert's love of radio jingles began in the 1960s listening to the radio, whilst growing up in New York City. As he began to learn about broadcasting, he discovered that the pieces of music used to announce the name of the station were called "jingles" and were made by a small number of very specialized companies, most of which were in Dallas. In 1971 Jon moved to Dallas to work for PAMS, one of the top jingle production houses of the day. About 3 years later he and his wife decided to create their own company. PAMS
PAMS Productions, Inc. (an acronym for Production, Advertising and Merchandising Service), based in Dallas, Texas, was one of the most famous jingle production companies in American broadcasting. It produced identification packages for radio stations around the world, as well as some commercial music. History The company was founded by William B. Meeks, Jr. (1921–1999) in 1951. Meeks worked on the air and also sold advertising, often creating jingles for some of the clients he sold time to. Eventually he decided to devote all his time to advertising, and in 1951 he started PAMS Advertising Agency, Inc. Initially, very few station jingles were made,and it wasn't until the mid-1950s that individual cuts were assembled into packages that could be syndicated to stations all over the country. KOST
KOST (103.5 FM) is a commercial radio station in Los Angeles, California. Owned by iHeartMedia, it broadcasts an AC radio format, switching to Christmas music for much of November and December. Its studios are co-located with its sister stations on West Olive Avenue in Burbank. KOST is the home of Ellen K, segments of whose morning show are syndicated to other iHeart AC stations on Saturday mornings. WLS (890 kHz) is a commercial AM radio station in Chicago, Illinois. Owned by Cumulus Media, through licensee Radio License Holdings LLC, the station airs a talk radio format. WLS has its radio studios in the NBC Tower on North Columbus Drive in the city's Streeterville neighborhood. Its non-directional broadcast tower is located on the southwestern edge of Tinley Park, Illinois in Will County.
