Jon Storm-Mathisen
Jon Storm-Mathisen (born 16 January 1941 in Oslo) is a highly cited Norwegian neuroscientist known for his work on the morphology and immunocytochemistry of the central nervous system. He is a professor of medicine at the Department of Anatomy at the University of Oslo. Storm-Mathiesen completed his examen artium at Oslo Cathedral School in 1959, graduated from the University of Oslo in 1965, and qualified as doctor of medicine from the same university in 1976. Oslo
Oslo ( , , or ; sma, Oslove) is the capital and most populous city of Norway. It constitutes both a county and a municipality. The municipality of Oslo had a population of in 2022, while the city's greater urban area had a population of in 2019, and the metropolitan area had an estimated population of in 2021. During the Viking Age the area was part of Viken. Oslo was founded as a city at the end of the Viking Age in 1040 under the name Ánslo, and established as a ''kaupstad'' or trading place in 1048 by Harald Hardrada. The city was elevated to a bishopric in 1070 and a capital under Haakon V of Norway around 1300. Personal unions with Denmark from 1397 to 1523 and again from 1536 to 1814 reduced its influence. Olav Aasmund Smidsrød (9 November 1936 – 29 January 2017) was a Norwegian biochemist. He was born in Sem. He took the siv.ing. degree in 1961 and the dr.ing. degree in 1971 at the Norwegian Institute of Technology, and was a professor at the University of Trondheim from 1977, later the Norwegian University of Science and Technology. He is known for his work with polymers, particularly heteropolysaccharides. In 2008 he was awarded the Gunnerus Medal.
