Johnny Pimentel
Johnny Ty Pimentel (born March 29, 1956) is a Filipino politician who is currently serving in the House of Representatives of the Philippines as the representative of Surigao del Sur's 2nd district. He previously served as a deputy speaker of the House from 2019 to 2020. He also served as vice governor of Surigao del Sur from 1995 to 1998 and later governor from 2010 to 2016. Early life and education Pimentel was born on March 29, 1956 in Tandag, Surigao to Vicente Pimentel Sr., the first governor of the undivided Surigao, and Felicidad Ty. His siblings include Vicente Pimentel Jr. and Alexander Pimentel. He graduated from Ateneo de Manila University with a Bachelor of Science in Business Management degree. Lakas–Christian Muslim Democrats, abbreviated as Lakas–CMD and also known simply as Lakas, is a political party in the Philippines. Bislig, officially the City of Bislig ( ceb, Dakbayan sa Bislig; fil, Lungsod ng Bislig), is a 3rd class component city in the province of Surigao del Sur, Philippines. According to the 2020 census, it has a population of 99,290 people. It is the most populous among the cities and municipalities in the province of Surigao del Sur. Barangay Mangagoy, the downtown area often dubbed by its residents as "the little city within the city", is the center of trade and industry of Bislig which has a population of 32,464 as of the 2015 estimate.
