John Wynne (bishop)
John Wynne (born between 1665 and 1667 – 15 July 1743) was Bishop of St Asaph (1715–1727) and of Bath and Wells (1727–1743), having previously been principal of Jesus College, Oxford (1712–1720). Life Wynne was born in Maes-y-coed, Caerwys, Flintshire, in north Wales and educated in Northop and at Ruthin School before entering Jesus College in March 1682. He obtained his BA degree in 1685 and was elected a Fellow of the college in January 1687. Subsequently, he was awarded the degrees of MA (1688), BD (1696) and DD (1706). He was chaplain to the 8th Earl of Pembroke, who appointed him rector of Llangelynnin, Merionethshire in 1701 (a post he held until 1714). In 1705, he became prebendary of Christ College, Brecon. He was Lady Margaret Professor of Divinity at Oxford 1705–1716. John Wynne (footballer)
John Francis Wynne (born 24 September 1947) is a former Australian rules footballer who played 193 games for Norwood in the SANFL as well as 84 games with WANFL club West Perth. He is on the interchange bench in Norwood’s official ‘Team of the Century’. Wynne started his career at West Perth where he was a centre-half forward and played in their 1969 premiership team. The following season he transferred to Norwood where he would spend his next 13 years, often being used as a ruck-rover. He was a regular in the Norwood team during the 1970s and was a member of premierships in 1975 and 1978, the former as captain. In the 1978 SANFL Grand Final they had trailed Sturt by 29 points at three quarter time but came back to win, with Wynne kicking the goal which put them in front. John Wynne (1689–1718), of Maenan Abbey and Melai, Denbighshire, was a Welsh politician. He was the only son of William Wynne of Melai and educated at Jesus College, Oxford. He was a common councilman for Denbigh from 1707 to his death, serving as mayor in 1712 and an alderman in 1715–16, 1717–18. John Arthur Wynne
John Arthur Wynne PC (20 April 1801 – 19 June 1865) was an Irish landowner and politician. He was the eldest surviving son of Owen Wynne (1755–1841) of Hazelwood House, Sligo, Ireland and educated at Winchester School (1816-1819) and Christ Church, Oxford (1820). He succeeded his father in 1841, inheriting the family seat of Hazelwood House, Sligo, and was appointed High Sheriff of Sligo for 1840–41. He was elected as a Conservative Member of Parliament for Sligo in 1830 and again in 1856, resigning in 1860 by becoming Steward of the Manor of Northstead. He was made an Irish Privy Counsellor in 1852. He died on a visit to Tuam in 1865. John Wynne (Born 1957) is a Canadian/British artist and professor emeritus of sound art. Wynne is known primarily for his sound-based installation works. Early life and education He received a BA (Hons) in English literature in 1984 from Queen’s University in Kingston, Ontario. He received a PhD in Sound Art from Goldsmiths College, University of London in 2007. Work and exhibitions Wynne is best known for his series of installations involving large accumulations of cast-off speakers, beginning with ''Fallender ton für 207 lautsprecher boxen (Falling tone for 207 loudspeakers)'' in Berlin in 2004.
